I have to disagree. Mangini seems like a really likeable guy to me, the other stuff isn't that big a deal.

Might want to put this statement into context. I said the the following in regards to a reason why Del Rio may have used the bush league tactic of running up the score.

    Here is what I said.

There is no black and white on Mangini. I am very happy with the play calling on offense. But I think the way he has treated people is terrible. He seems to want emulate Belechick's style of playing fast and loose with the rules and treating people poorly. But he does not have Brady to bail him out, the reputation or even Parcell's Charisma. Eventually playing fast and loose with the rules, acting arrogant, treating others with disrespect will come back and hurt you. But again look at who his role models are.

Now from a performance standpoint I love the play calling. They were wise enough to keep the conservate play calling but made it better. But the team really should be 0-5 they have played terrible in every game but the Colots game. Only Pennington's play has bailed them out along with a few beneficial phantom calls by the refs in tennessee, Buffalo self destructing and 2 once in a life time plays by Coles and Cotchery. But absent the play of Coles, Pennington, and Rhodes the rest of the team has failed to show up the first 5 games. This is the most talented team we have had since 2001 and it plays with no heart. Even when we had by far the worst defense in the league in 2002 and 2003 the defense played on emotion and heart. Now it just folds up. The 2004 defense had a ton of question marks but pushed itself to its limits. But I am not sure you can judge the defensive results this year until we get personel more suited to 3-4. But what is unimprssive and can be judged is the complete lack of effort. Unfortunatly that defensive effort we are used to seems to have moved to KC whose defense is now playing lights out. although looking at KC's injury problems and schedule it will be quite surprising iof they can stay competitive.

But the Jets this year have a once in lifetime schedule. We may not play Buffalo and Tennessee each week but our 10 out of divison games will never be better. 8 games against the two worst divisions in football and 2 games against Oakland and Cleveland. Any team in the league other than Tennessee and Oakland would be an immediate playoff contender with our schedule. So there is reason to be optimistic. Wins even against bad teams breeds optimism and wins. Mangini because of this once in a life time schedule should get a pass this year and chance to grow into the job. This year really looks a lot like 2004 where an easy schedule may bail us out. A lot of people look back at 2004 and say it was such a great coaching job. I disagree and say it was more schedule. 2003 to me was the most the good coaching job, getting six wins with that team was beyond amazing. Hopefully the 2004 simalarities will continue. Luck is always better to have than good coaching. Hopefully Pennington will keep playing lights out and bailing out the rest of the teams lack of effort.

good point, I should have set up the question better. However here is what you said, not the above:

Bellichick has Brady to bail him out for being an A$%, a reputation and some friends in the league. Parcells has his sense of humor, reputation and charisma. Mangiini has none of that.

I'm not threads that are all about calling out other posters. This one is misguided.

I am not calling him out. We were debating in the game thread and I told him I would make a new post because I doubt other people agreed with him.

I doubt so as well but didn't get George Bush get elected twice. Err I mean once. Well maybe he never actually won eitehr of those elections but a 100 millon or so people voted him pointing out how stupid people can be. So whether people agree with me or not really proves little. Especially on a message board where debate and anyalsis is rare and people rarely recognize the existence of grey areas. Rather they simply either unconditionally love and support thier player or coach or hate him with no ability to recognize anything good.

What the hell he's trying to win a football game that post made no sense. Why should Mangini give a shit what other people think? He's trying to win football games not make other assholes outside of the team happy.

The Rams ran up the score against the Jets in 2001 and Denver did the same last season.

Maybe in 2001 he had to, but Edwards didn't have to pay dues in 2005.

Furthermore, Edwards never acted like an arrogant ass.

who gives a fuck if they run up the score(they were just running on us period, if we stoppped the run they wouldnt have scored all those time).... you he's really hurting mangini by doing that? this isnt college, lose by 1 or 50 it doesnt matter...Screw every other NFL coach and team, i would rather mangini not be "friends" with them. I want to see blood from every team that we play and i hope mangini feels the same way..period
