That's what everyone is thinking so I said it. When we got Vick I thought we would start Vick and let Geno sit and learn for a year. Instead we start Geno and probably damage him psychologically for good and waste another season.

We needed to know what we had in Geno.

    Yes and No.

Yes- In hindsight, I guess it did give us the best chance to win.

No- Vick isn't the long term answer and we needed to see if Geno was. So at least we know that QB is the teams biggest need and its something to be addressed this off season, first and foremost.

The alternative would've been starting Vick this year and then Geno as the franchise QB next. I know it's frustrating for the anti-Geno fans. I know because when he was drafted I was cursing at my tv. But we did draft him. We were going to give him every chance to succeed. And we did. It's better for the franchise to figure out sooner rather than later what they had or didnt in Geno.

Geno definitely cost us 2 games with his turnovers - i would be willing to say 6 games. Rex and Idzik shit their careers down the toilet on geno and sanchez

I think they really believed that Geno was the better Qb after his good last 4 games in 2013 plus how he looked in OTAs and training camp. They thought he had picked up the offense. Like most everything this season they were wrong.

Whether Vick started the season or not, Geno still sucks...

But we needed to see if Geno was going to be apart of the future.. Good thing we found our answer sooner rather than later.

That being said, Vick isn't a savior, either.

Sure that's what we know now but it didn't make much sense in August. Had we drafted Geno this year and let him sit it would've been a good plan but he started 16 games last year and showed promise the last 4 games on a team with D3 receivers. There's always going to be "we should've done this stuff"

It starts with pursuing Manning causing us to overpay Sanchez, then trading for Tebow, then playing Sanchez in the preseason 4th quarter who shouldve been cut had he not had a terrible contract, then forcing a rookie who wasn't ready into a starting role with a horrible surrounding cast.
