Westhoff called McDougle a twerp on the SNY Draft Show right after he was picked that night. He knew nothing about him when he said that, nothing. Considering he knew nothing the comment was BS. Mcdougle wasn't on the media radar because the media doesn't have access that the teams have. McDougle showed on the NFL boards at the Combine, and especially at the Maryland Pro Day. The media boards are written, for the most part after the college season. The media doesn't have the resources that the teams do. The NFLboards are written after the college All Star games, The Combine, And School Pro Days. That's why you see them change so much leading up to the draft. Anybody who said shit about McDougle if they didn't see his Pro Day or film is full of shit. Dennis Thurmond is the one who initially pushed for McDougle by the way. They did'nt pull McDougle out their ass like some people think, and are saying. I can't stand Woody, and I don't like Rex as a HC, but the McDougle rap is horse shit. If nobody got hurt, McDougle was on his way to beat Milliner on the depth chart all things being equal. There's hundred of other things they fucked up before they fucked up on McDougle.
So getting a TE that catches a few balls out of 12 picks is better than 2 guys that helped us get to the AFCCG twice?
I'm not much of anything, I'm a little unhappy that there aren't more instant contributors, but not mad because I know this isn't where it all ends. how to judge them in 2014? bust class. but anything beyond that? I can't with all honesty project how things will go or how good this draft is. What if Dozier turns out to be a starting guard? what of Evans is a good WR? what of the late LB's surprise? just as well i never expected everybody to pan out either, of course there were cuts thats what happens when you have 6 players backloading your draft's last three rounds. and no, don;t say "then he should've traded up, most of the picks were un-tradable and not every team is willing to take a trade down.
No we couldn't. And McKnight had nothing to do with Woodcock. It was David Clowney that took his spot, not McKnight. _
I see that Brandon Dixon has been active for the Bucs. If he can play for them why couldn't he play for us? As we know, we have a tiny problem at CB. I'm really starting to wonder about the position coaches. Can anyone remember someone we "coached up" in the past few years? AA? Kyle Wilson? Darrin Walls? Steven Hill?
Brandon Dixon has no value to any franchise as far as I am concerned. Bucs have a pretty had secondary also
Ya talk shit about a rookie who is missing his first season after tearing his ACL. Real big man you are. Fkn senile old bastid.
Wow Watching this shit makes me sick thinking back- Kyle Brady over Sapp, O'Brien Over Marino... Worthless franchise Pos dumb mfers
Not a TE that catches a few balls, but a TE that's currently on a better pace than some Hall of Famers despite being criminally underutilized. And not 2 guys that helped us get to the championship game twice, but two back-up caliber players that took advantage of good talent and coaching around them to contribute within their limitations. So yes, to answer your question.
A misinformed article. At that point, Woodcock had been moved to WR, was wearing a jersey in the 80s, there were 4 RBs above Danny on the depth chart and Clowney had beaten him out for the last WR spot. _
