that this season could become like this is almost unfathomable...and there's still half the season to go

The Jets franchise is a storied one for ineptitude. This team once went 11 straight years without a single winning record, from 1970 through 1980, and they went another 10 years, from 1987 through 1996, with just a single winning record of 8-7-1. This franchise has never won more than 12 games and only won more than 10 games four times in 54 years, while losing more than 10 games 10 times. This franchise has only had 18 winning seasons in 54 years. Yet through all those years, through all that losing, this franchise has never fielded a team quite as inept as this 2014 Jets team in many respects. Folks, you are witnessing history here. This is as bad as it gets. This is as bad as it has ever gotten. I'd kill for 8-7-1.
Ahhhh the Kotite years,,,,sadly I remember them well,,,,and I know it might be hard to comprehend but it was not hard at all to see out of the eyeholes that we cut into the paper bags on our heads !
The Jets historically are one of the worst franchises in sports----always have been. Don't let Junc tell you otherwise.. However, the roster as it is currently constituted should be nowhere NEAR breaking all time records of ineptitude. is it a quality roster? no, not by a long shot. But again, there is no way inhell the team should be threatening all time ineptitude records. Our coaching staff is worse than our roster.
Sadly the 2014 Jets are on a crash-course with destiny to one-up Kotite's 1996 squad who lost a franchise worst 8-straight games. Just two more losses and this team plummets to all-time oblivion. With KC and Pittsburgh coming up things look pretty bleak. Maybe, a full week of practice with the first team with give Vick the extra preparation he needs to put the brakes on this devastating slide a score a win for the Jets.
Who cares? The season is over and I have accepted that. Time to get ready for the offseason and the draft. They can win 0 more games for all I care and get themselves a better pick. The only thing to worry about from this point is what happens with HC and GM.
Yep this staff is a disaster...all of our good assistants got the hell out of here and we're left with Thurman(basically holds Rex's headset), Jeff Weeks(Rex's drinking buddy) and a OC who once deferred to start overtime. The roster isnt very good...but this is the sloppiest brand of football I've ever seen.
