because Rex had nothing to do with the fact that this team has no talent on offense when all the top picks are defensive pics. Really? Come on....

Do you know he did? That's the GM's responsibility if he's gonna let rex do his job then who's fault is that?

Rex is the coach of this team until he isn't! ! You can like it or don't like it!! That's the facts!

Forcing Ryan on Idzik was a dumb move, he should have been let go, Idzik should have been able to pick his own coach...46 years of futility continues

    What's Idzek's resume again?

Truth is Idzek was the only one who wanted the job, now you could say that no one else wanted it because Rex would still be the HC and it put off candidates, but that is pure conjecture and we have to deal with facts. If Idzek was really THAT valuable to Seattle, why did they let him go? I'm really not sure how much Johnny boy had to do with the Seattle finished product, but thus far for NYJs he's keeping his cards close to his chest and looking like he's making bad decisions.

I agree, I would fire both of them, still he should have hand picked his own coach

Yeah you're probably right there, that usually doesn't work and it hasn't this time either....so far. Maybe, just maybe we do have the right HC and had 2 shit GMs , to back...3 if you want to count Bradway as well, who incidentally is a TALENT spotter, WTF is he doing still here??

Bradway has been here forever, God knows why....time to clean house 5-4 the rest of the year Is highly optimistic and good for the Jaguars, not the Jets, 6 wins and 4 straight years out of the playoffs any other coach would be fired

I agree with you about consistency and the importance of a solid philosophy. But you know what else is good...

Balance. With RR, the balance has always been tipped toward defense. Our offensive struggles go much farther than just personnel.
Competence: Questionable in-game decision making is chronic.
System. We tried the whole "process" thing before the owner realized he didn't have the stomach for it. He wanted it now (then). First it was Favre. When that didn't work, he wanted big, brash, boasting RR to sell better coverage and tickets. But boasting turned out to be bloviation (now bewilderment). Then he wanted Peyton. When Manning gave them the Heisman, the front office had to pamper Sanchez's bottom with a huge contract in order not to hurt his fragile ego, saddling them with a consistently inconsistent QB and cap issues for another two years. And Tebow? Let's rightly blame Mike Tannenbaum. But what does that say about how things work? A GM goes off on his own and acquires a guy like that just for the hell of it. Hadn't we just signed Stanton?

Most of this is on the owner. And if it's not on the owner, it's on the owner. Whatever the case, he perpetuated the madness by hiring a GM while keeping the current HC. If that was his approach, he should have just made RR the GM. I don't know. What a mess.

At least be able to spell Offense and know what a functioning one looks like yeah. Rex can stop offenses, but is completely incapable of either developing an offense or even recognizing offensive talent. Remember when Rex fell in love with the Ground and Pound? Not exactly a cutting edge offense there is it. Getting Rex involved in the Offense is like asking a NASCAR driver to turn right instead of left.

Love the Nascar metaphor , very good :p.

I thought that is why we got rid of Schottie, get someone who KNOWS offense. So then we hired Sporano which was a joke. But given the right tools think that Marty M will come good.
So why get Rex involved with the O in the first place? I'm sure Sean Peyton has F all to do with NO's D

Well, Rex hired Sparano on Parcells' recommendation which brought us the NFL equivalent of the Ebola virus. The Wildcat which Rex just loves to fool the opposition with. This is after Brian "Too Cute" Schottenheimer. I almost forgot that Woody forced Schotty on Rex just like he forced Rex on Idzik. See a pattern yet?

Now we got MM who by all accounts, is still pass happy and indeed, has cutesy tendencies as well. My Philly buddies just look at me with that "we told you so" look. His RedZone offense ideas are less than effective and that's being really kind. All of this could be attributed to the HC not knowing anything whatsoever about one facet of the sport. I'm pretty sure Sean Payton has some idea as to what he's doing on either side of the ball and he also has something Rex doesn't as a HC. That would be both a Super Bowl appearance and a Super Bowl win.

I don't think Rex is going anywhere. Somebody is going to have a great laugh at the end of the season, I'm betting on me.

If youre going to be laughing at the end of the season when this team is 4-12, you need to go join your boyfriend Rex next year when he is with the Raiders or Jags. Good riddance...

Still can't fathom it. I said it in another thread, but with all due respect to his playoff wins, Rex has 0 division titles, 0 conference titles, 0 SB titles, 0 winning seasons in what will be 4 straight years, 0 playoff appearances in 4 straight years, and what will almost definitely be a losing record as a head coach after 6 seasons.

If he were the HC of the Fins, Bills or Pats with those stats, and any of those teams insisted on keeping him, we, as Jets fans, would be laughing our asses off.

He's also had 3......THREE offensive coordinators. What other HC has had the luxury of 3 OC's in 6 years. Also, Rex on Sparano: "He's my guy."
    Yeah....time to go.
