From Chris Mortensen's blog on ESPN today. Hopefully it's not a kiss of death. ? Best coaching I've seen in the league this year? It's been done by the Saints' Sean Payton and the Jets' Eric Mangini . ? Two best offensive coordinators nobody's talking about are in the AFC East -- Steve Fairchild of the Buffalo Bills and Brian Schottenheimer of the Jets. ? How about Chad Pennington? If you can't be happy for this guy, who then?
Steve Fairchild of the Buffalo Bills? Are you kidding me? He lost the game for them against us. If the Bills had continued to run the ball they would have won the game. Instead, they put the ball in Loseman's hands (on 3rd and goal) which was insane. They were gaining 6-8 yards on every run play. Bills fans were going crazy after that game calling for Fairchild's head. On the other hand, its very nice to see Shotts getting some credit around the NFL.
big bad brian has been the man so far. we are averaging a good amount of points without any real running game to speak of. could you imagine if we start getting the ground game on track? the play action alone (we all know chad is the best PA qb in the league) would be sick. i was hoping that he wasnt going to bring marty ball here, and im glad he hasnt. he is doing a hell of a job.
No Bills fans were calling for Fairchilds head. Fairchild is a very good offensive coordinator and he has done a great job with JP this year. This offense is just starting to gel together and by the mid point of the season you will see a very explosive Bills offense. Fairchilds game plans have been very good, but the fact is we are a very young offense and its gonna take time for us to be great. All I can say is from week 1 against the Pats to week 4 against the Vikings this offense has really grown. JP Losman is way ahead of schedule from where mostly all Bills fans believed he would be at this point in the season. Even though we lost that game to you guys, you still witnessed a portion of what are offense will become.
It's like a Mr. Potato Thread. It has interchangeable parts, and looks goofy no matter how you arrange it.
How can you compare us to the Raiders and Dolphins of all offenses? Our first 2 games of the season we registered 240 net yards against the Pats and 171 net yards against the Fins, are last 2 games we registered 475 net yards against the Jets and 296 net yards against the Vikings. Thats 411 net yds the first 2 games compared to 771 net yds the last 2 games. In this case the numbers dont lie. Also I might add Mcgahee leads the league in rushing.
I think Are member Sundayjack was merely comparing the statements of other fans, rather than the actual offenses of the teams.
Yeah but the difference between my statements and there statements are that mine has facts to explain my point while theres are them talking out there ass.
So lets compare Mcgahee to the Jets running game as a team Willis Mcgahee - 99 rushes 389 yards 3.9 avg New Jersey Jets - 119 rushes 352 yards 3.0 avg So Mcgahee has 20 less rushes, 37 more yards and a .9 avg better than your whole team.
After the next four weeks, I guarantee McGahee won't be in the top 5. And by year end, put in at about 12.
congrats. We all know the Jets running game sucks. Lets compare him to . . . M. Vick (QB) - 38 rushes (61 less than McGahee) 333 yards (56 less than McGahee) 8.8 Avg (5.0 more than McGahee) BTW, his name is McGahee not Mcgahee. And you call yourself a Bills fan.
That's an argument for the weak-minded. Are you weak-minded? We're not talking about the Jets' running game, as much as you'd like to deflect attention from the reality of McGahee's overblown running stats. No one on this board ever bragged about the Jets' running game. The fact is, the Bills' passing attack sucks as much if not more than the Jets' running attack, and that's why your running stats are padded. Losman is subpar right now. And when he is forced to throw by the gameplan, it becomes obvious. Dick Jauron is Herm Edwards Lite, and you are stuck with him. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
