Another disasterous game yesterday, what was Art Shell thinking not challenging the Ronald Curry (6-2 210lb) reception spot. So bad, on so many levels. Raiderjeaux please educate us Jets fans on why the Raiders are not as abhorrent as the appear to be?
If there was any doubt, blowing an 18 point lead to the Browns at home(how bout that improved defense, huh?) cements the Raiders status as the worst team in the NFL.
There has to be a pretty good inside joke going around the Raiders lockeroom. Only a matter of time until we hear about it.
How did they screw up by not getting Al Saunders again? I mean what were they thinking getting Art Shell and then getting an OC that hasnt been in the NFL for a few years. And why are they not throwing to Moss? Hes screwing me over in my Fantasy Football team.
Temporary. Both he and NJ are pretty good about facing the music. . . . .unlike some fans. * cough*. . . * cough* . . . BLITZ. . . . * cough*
Moss is done there. I'ts in his speak, his attitude well represented by his demeanor. BTW Speakin on BLTZ where has that fish fan been? Really quiet.
I'll be messing with him later tonight. Just wait. As far as Moss goes, I agree. The Raiders had picked off Frye in the end zone. A couple plays later Walter threw a pass to Moss. He was running a go route and he didn't even make a play on the ball. He let the cornerback drop the pass. The Moss of old would have fought for the ball. The new Raider Moss is a wussy.
Thanks to all of you for your sincere sympathies. I offer no excuses. If the Raiders had beaten the Browns I could say they lost to two upper echelon teams and beat the team they were supposed to beat. I can't even hang my hat on that. You rush for 194 yards at home and blow a 21-3 lead? Not just anyone can do that. It takes a special brand of ineptitude. Having said all that, Moss is a jackass. Al Davis likes to roll the dice but he came up snake eyes on that one. Walter needed extra support from his offensive team captain (what a joke, he's not exactly Derek Jeter when it comes to captains) and he got half speed running, short-arming, lack of effort crapola of the first degree. And yes, not challenging the Curry spot made every vein in my neck bulge beyond capacity. Could have been the biggest play of the game and they didn't even bother to throw the red flag. Pathetic.
Could Al possibly have "old timers", for once we too had the experience of a sentimental owner (God rest his soul) but through a willingness to part with alot of cash to get to the promised land we paid a dumptruck load of money for a legend among coaches to ride in to save the franchise from mistakes in judgement...would Al have made the same move to bring in Art if he was 20 years younger? So for the parade on the field and the second coming of whatever that receiver was, I offer no sympathy to Raiders fans...and will never expect any in return... I do hope come 12/31/06 we parade Wayne and the entire stable out for display... and the horses dump on your sidelines...Peace be with you:raiders:
What's even worse was his explaination after the game for not challenging the play. To quote Art Shell "I didn't see it" how is that even possible? Everyone in the stadium saw it. All he had to do was tilt his head up a couple of degree's and he would have saw it on the Jumbotron as well. I mean it's not like he's actually doing something constructive on the sideline to not be looking at field on any given play. You're a classy poster NJ, just know this thread was not directed at pouring salt on your specific wounds.
This isn't his first time though. He'll do what he does when the Dolphins go into the tank, he'll be back in the offseason to tell us about how the Dolphins are now retooled and ready for another Superbowl run.
Yes, as I understand it, he's down in the bunker re-evaluating the ht./wt. on Raider players looking for the next glimmer of hope that the Raiders will rise again.
Thanks dude. Shell has made numerous mistakes, the foremost being the hiring of his old buddy to be the offensive coordinator. But I heard what he said about this and it's been reported out of context. He didn't say that he didn't see it. He said he couldn't tell about the spot from the sideline because the play was inside the 30, therefore he had to rely on the people upstairs to tell him if it was worth reviewing. How those people didn't think it was reviewing is beyond me. He also showed some class and refused to name names, but guess who one of the guys upstairs happens to be? Art's old pal. You reap what you sow...
its funny cause i stay here in LA the heart of the raider nation and my god do they cry after every loss..lol my older brother is a die-hard raider fan and he is just sick 2 his stomach with the raiders play. they need 2 move gallery he is just killin them no blockin whats so ever. there OL is just horrible, like every year they will lead the NFL in false starts and flags. they also need 2 trade jerry porter asap if it aint 2 late by now hes a cancer 2 the team. anyways by far they are the worst team in the NFL
Everytime I feel the pain of knowing the Jets won't do that well this year, the Lphins and the Raiders make me feel better.
