I don't think Winston's as bad of a cat as made out to be. He hasn't done much worse then what Big Ben did early in his career between the rape allegation and him riding a motorcycle as the starting QB. Sanchez has a rape allegation back at USC that got brushed aside and has found himself in some precarious spots too(Hanging out with a 17 year old girl) and we know he's pretty mature for the most part. Its good that these kids don't get crazy money anymore right off the bat. With Winston, he would spend like a nutjob and be like Vince Young but because its now a "Earn your pay" type of scale, it will keep him hungry. He just puts himself in terrible spots so I agree with you Deacon, he needs a tough love coach to get on his ass. Same with the players around him, he won't act up when he sees 280+ Lb defenders chewing his ass up.
I'm staying away from both Winston and Mariota. I like Mariota's skill-set but he lacks a lot of the fundamentals you want in a QB [Taking snaps under center, reading defenses and going through progressions].
I'm just so afraid of drafting a QB with a high first round pick. For every Andrew Luck there are 10 Ryan Leafs !

Cowher got to an SB(and lost) early on in his career. That plus a string of winning seasons bought him the time
I actually looked at Cowher today because I like Rex and wanted to compare their careers. Cowher had 4 losing seasons in 15, and his worst stretch was 3 years without making the playoffs and one of those years was 9-7. I love Rex, but Cowher >Rex. It may be time for a change.

You don't really need the 1 this year. The Raiders and Jags won't go QB. But this team will win 3/4 useless games late in the season and will probably pick in the 6-10 range.
