offensive problems go deeper than the QB position

Really, the whole fanbase? I'm not saying Geno had time. I'm saying he had just as much time as Rivers did. My eyes were open to see that the Chargers played mostly 1 on 1 against our WRs and blitzed a ton. Our WRs did not get any separation and our QBs were not making quick enough decisions like Chargers WRs and Rivers. If you are Geno apologists, please take comfort I place most of the blame on our WRs not winning against 1 on 1 coverage.

Did I? If there's a post out there with me saying that, that would be a neat trick.

You're crazy if you think the offensive line isn't a big problem. Obviously you think they had a good game

So in your world if someone doesn't believe the offensive line is a big problem that means one automatically believes they had a good game. With that line of thinking arguing must be easy for you.

Legler is trying to say that their oline gave up as much pressure as the Jets oline. But because Rivers is great and they have better offensive talent they were able to overcome it.

Ding, ding, ding!!! The most glaring thing from this game was how we could not make the Chargers pay for using exercising single coverage on the outside. Until we can prove we can burn teams when they do that expect to see more. That's what happened in this game. The Chargers were emboldened by the success of their blitzes.

Vick got hit more than Geno, and he is the Qb that has the experience of being more likely of stepping up into the pocket, where as Geno, not so much.
Vick was rusty you could see it. The right progression was read, the throw wasn't.
Neither Geno or Vick has the command of the Qb position as good as Rivers. Regardless of what some Jet fans say about Rivers, he is an excellent Qb. I wish the Jets had him now. I wish the Jets had him in 09 and 10. He is better at standing in the face of pressure than our last 2 franchise Qbs. If he played behind our line, our fans would be ready for him to leave.

I get your point but more times than not Rivers oline was able to pick up the blitz to give him time to throw. How many times did the Jets blitz only for Rivers to somehow get the pass off. Even when the Jets didn't blitz he had time to sit back and throw. Their oline did a better job IMO.

Its been a trend all year long, not sure why some people are surprised about the OLine pass protection struggles. Here's the stat on Winters heading into the Charger game:

According to Pro Football Focus, he has allowed seven hurries, two hits and a sack entering this game.
FootballOutsiders had him as the worst LG in the league heading into this game too.

The Jet O-Line heading into today's game were tied for 2nd in the NFL with eight false starts.....that's gone up with the 2 Colon registered today, and the one DBrick got. So 11(Maybe I missed one?) by my count in 5 games. That's over 2 a game, that's 10 yards given up just like that.

He needs to take a seat for Aboushi at this point. These 5 guys on the OLine have not played well together, its need to be shaken up.

I was at the game today and I can assure you, everyone was horrendous on offense ... And most were horrendous on defense. I've never seen a worse performance than this. Ever.

But with that said, I'm not going to fall in line with all the overreaction. The fact is, this is the only game this season that we failed to move the ball up and down the field, and the only game we didn't have a chance to win. We should probably be sitting no worse than 2-3 right now. We might not be a very good team, but we're not this bad either. It was a horrible game, but I expect us to move the ball and score against the Broncos on Sunday. Of course stopping them might be a bit of a problem.

Don't get me wrong, everyone failed today. Idzik for obvious reasons. Rex gambled and lost by making Ellis and Barnes inactive. Thus, our d-line rotation was thin and the guys got gassed out there in the 100 degree heat. Rex was forced to play a lot of nickel which allowed SD, a poor rushing team, to run all over us. MM did not do more to protect Geno and Vick against the blitz with max protection and hot routes. The secondary did not cover well and missed a bunch of tackles. WRs did not win one on one coverage. The line, TEs and RBs failed in pass protection. But to come away after this game thinking the biggest issue with this team is a bit noob-ish IMO.

I think with better protection the QB's couldve faired better. Most teams have average olines and they breakdown quickly. But our line seemed to have broken down more than your average line. It was too glaring to sit there and say that it wasn't the biggest issue in that game.
