I don't think anybody is blaming Vick for this loss... But as awful as both looked, I think you have to go with the guy who has only started 21 games as opposed to the washed up vet. Hell if Geno keeps playing this bad, I'd rather see Simms
I understand how you feel, but you do realize that Geno has been the starter for a year and 1/4 time span? Vick was in for 2 quarters, give him a couple of games and see what he can do, it's a lost season, Geno is not the answer.
I'm not interested in developing quarterbacks. This isn't the minor leagues. Is Vick washed up? Maybe he was just starting to warm up. I'd give him the start against Denver but Rex is starting Geno. Do you realize how bad he was.
Last year he was 2-4 as a starting QB Year before that, he was 3-7. And that was with a better team. We know what kind of QB he is at this point in his career - a loser.
Do you realize how bad Vick was?! You go with the young QB here if the veteran QB cannot separate themselves from it.
I thought Vick in the 4th quarter at leAst moved the team a smidgen. Of course the Chargers had a big lead so they played back. With Gino there was no upside. Remember last season that stretch of 3 games when Genos QBR was 10. Today was the same thing. You would have hoped he could turn it around but this was a regression and a bad sign. I'd go with Vick.
This. The point is ... we know Geno sucks (and that the team won't win with him). Once you've made that determination, there's no reason not to try something else.
vick is still the BETTER option. he came into a game where his team was demoralized and didn't turn the ball over. Vick isn't great but he's better than Geno therefore he should play.
How anyone can blame geno or Vick for this game is ridiculous. Oline was terrible today and there isn't any body to throw the ball too. Decker being out hurts bad as he's the only credible reciever we have. We contribute to go into each season without playmakers at the wr position. I was hoping today would be a break out day for Amaro but that obviously didn't happen. Now the oline is in trouble. Old and we have to start rebuilding the line ASAP. This offense is missing so many pieces it's crazy.
vick looked like balls but I think we would be smart to give him a week of practice and a start so he isn't coming into cold to a lost cause where the other team knows we have to pass. of course our reject coach won't do that though.
It proves that we can't keep ignoring the reciever position. I guess we can blame it on Stephan hill for never developing. Decker was a good pick up but there were other recievers out there to be had to be the #2 guy. James jones would have been a solid pick up. He's a much better reciever then David Nelson and salas. Oline needs a major rebuild also
putting vick in there revealed more about the offensive personnel, different qb with the same results usually means everything else around the qb is inadequate....name a qb that could function in today's offense? Without decker, it's essentially last years offense all over again.
In terms of Geno and Vick. This game doesn't mean those guys are that bad. But it could possibly lie somewhere in the middle. Decker and Kerley are good. Amaro looks promising. Ivory looks good. The Oline is a mess in pass protection. That's the biggest issue right now. It doesn't help that Nelson regressed, Decker is banged up and CJ is hot garbage. Plus Geno is prone for boneheaded mistakes.
