Dude there have been two games. If 30% came from cutler, 70% of their sacks came from the other game. Meaning Cutler is more than 2x harder to sack then the other abs they played.
With an already struggling secondary, we are going to get toasted by their WRs. I'm really not sure what went wrong against GB in the 2nd half, but the Bears will be all over that game film. We can only hope that Rex has something up his sleeve and we can also put up enough points.
I think Rex has stuff up his sleeve, but the blitz packages are vanilla due to the fact he cant just leave the secondary on islands for more then 2 seconds without them getting burnt. He kinda lied when he said he could run the type of D he wants with just anyone back there. Need corners to hold up if you really wanna get after the Qb on every down.
Decker is officially listed as questionable per Fat Tits, no surprise. Brian Costello @BrianCoz Follow Eric Decker is questionable and Dee Milliner doubtful for Monday's game #nyj 1:31 PM - 20 Sep 2014 4 RETWEETS 3 FAVORITES
Of course we have less probability with them out, but I don't think we're guaranteed a loss without them. Cutler has thrown very very quick passes all season, which is the only reason he hasn't been sacked much. As a result of getting the ball out quickly, his receivers haven't had a chance to get down the field and the passes have all been 20 yards or less. If we can continue to force this style of play, and suffocate the run, we have a chance without Milliner. Our defensive line needs to swat the ball at the line as much as possible. Eventually, if we shut down their D and force some three and outs, Cutler will get frustrated and start to hold the ball too long. This strategy was genuinely working against the Packers, but Aaron Rodgers is who he is and eventually took over the game, running around and stretching the plays, allowing his receivers more time to get open.
Going forward the Jets need to emphasize their strength at RB. I'd like to see Powell and CJ out there becasue both of them are quality receiving threats. While Powell doesn't have the speed you'd expect from a pass catching he has a knack for getting open and finding soft spots in the zone. I was very disappointed in MM for not using him in GB because I thought he showed a lot in the passing game while the Jets receivers couldn't do much. The Jets need to expose the Bears LB's in coverage because it's their biggest weakness. And by wearing them down early in the game Ivory can come in fresh in the second half and run out some clock. No more deep routes when the interior Oline can't stop a nosebleed.
I'd be shocked if Decker is out there. At least we can use him as a decoy on the field. Geno to Kerley MNF!
So do we put Nelson and Kerley on the outside ? Does Kerley even play outside ever ? Nelson and Salas outside ?... Saunders ?.... Is Chris Johnson our best WR right now ? We need a big game from our TEs
Amaro needs to play well. Hopefully we can get the running game going so we utilize in the play action game
Does it matter whose playing wr? It's not like our defense is going to stop marshall and jeffery hell they can't stop holmes
i have no confidence that this team will win come monday. they can't even take a game that is won already - just what makes you think this team will not implode on monday night? what assurance do you have?
