We aren't we using CJ like Eagles are using Sproles?

If CJ was in Philly...lights out. We need to utilize him the same way. I hope we never try to use CJ to run between the tackles again..thats not what he does anymore, thats what ivory is for. I wanted Deanthony Thomas though!!

Don't know but I was looking at him running all around and was floored! It was as if he was in fast-forward and everyone else was in play. Def. should of picked him up.

The real question is why has Rex been wasting our time not using Geno Smith like Joe Montana?

Yep. The only inside plays that CJ should be getting are quick hitting traps where if you get the block you're going to have a seam.

All of the shotgun takes away any type of 'between the tackle' runs that CJ could be effective at it. Stretches and traps, even off tackle traps. Instead we're insistent on running the same damn shotgun dive right up the middle where CJ dances and gets tackled for a two yard gain. He needs runs where there are seams and cutback lanes. Not straight power where the defense has plenty of time to fill the A gaps.

It's time to give Geno a damn chance under center. I've been charting his plays and I'm halfway through, I will finish tomorrow night. I believe we thrown twice from under center all year with him. It takes away any element of a real effective play action that can play to Geno throwing the ball down the field. He says he needs to trust Geno more, well he needs to trust him center or we're no better running Spurrier's offense in the pros.

Running between the tackles is important.

Like I said last offseason Sproles was going to be an immediate impact guy in Philly and it's proving true. I said the Jets should be all over him yet they showed no interest at all. Bad non-move by Idzik. I still remember some people on this board saying that Sproles wasn't worth it or he was limited in what he could do, just complete nonsense. Regardless what his role is, the guy positively impacts his team every time he's in the game and is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the NFL.

CJ Can do that .. run straight really really fast.. We dont have that kind of O-line though that makes them moses like holes to run through

This is a problem they need to fix quick.

Morningwheg has got to realize how many plays are off the table with Geno working predominately out of the gun.

    We couldn't run outside either.

Our D-line may be good...our O line still needs to prove it.

For what it's worth, I was hoping for a few CJ screen passes in GB but for whatever reason we didn't do it.

Why aren't we using Geno Smith like the Eagles use Foles? Why aren't we using Decker like the Eagle used Desean?

CJ > Sproles, first off. Sproles is a #2 back.

    BTW:

Total carries: Johnson 12, Ivory 13. STOP USING JOHNSON AS A FEATURE BACK! WTF!!!

Now find the last time our oline created a gap that big in the middle. Any fast RB could have made that play. And that's against Jacksonville, no less. LOL!

Because Chip Kelly is an offensive guru and Ryan is anything but?

    Because he's not Darren Sproles.

A better question is why didn't our genius GM think to offer the Saints a 5th round pick for Sproles?

It would have been the equivalent of giving up O'Day freaking Aboushi or Jeremiah George for one of the most dynamic playmakers in the game.

I guess he figured with Clyde Gates and Stephen Hill in the fold we were "all set" as far as the "offensive weapons" category.

I would definitely have cosigned a 5th rounder for Sproles. No telling if they did or not, though. Just that it was never reported that they had shown interest.

Yeah he decided were are all set at offensive weapons so that's why we didn't sign CJ or Decker and didn't draft Amaro?

It would be interesting to see who did try to get Sproles. NO gave him to a team in conference and a playoff team. I would be kind of surprised if a 5th was the best offer they got

Sproles is 31. According to some that's about the age when football players die then resurrect as civilians.

It's a good thing that I'm not "some".

Some runningbacks have taken hundreds more snaps than Sproles.

And made millions on their reputation.

The Jets can find success with limited Johnson snaps, but they won't find the fresh legs they could have.

Sproles is a tiny man and he lives the diet of a Tibetan Sherpa. Nothing but nuts and yaks blood. He's going to play until he's 100. Also, black people age well.
