Looks like we brought Ellis back. Can't have too many corners for GB. I never thought he should be have been cut, very good on specials and decent depth at corner,. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/
Woo hoo! I always liked Ellis. He had a terrible time in his last preseason game, but he's a gritty player and good ST player. Hopefully his time away will light a fire to improve his DB technique. I'm actually surprised no one else occurred him up considering the rash of CB injuries around the league and his experience and ability to contribute on ST.
I was shocked when they released him, best gunner on STs by far. And a decent dime CB when you need him. Also, he may be the nicest guy on the team, although he doesn't act like it on the field.
Maybe I am a homer and over value Jets players, but I was shocked that he was not picked up by another team. Glad he is back, but still odd he was released.
Good deal, good to see our little man back. I felt he has been one of more solid ST players that should get more time floating around instead of Wilson. I questioned the release but maybe they just wanted to get a closer look at McFadden. Welcome back little Lanky.
At this point teams are looking for instant contributors and have already filled out their STs, Lankster isn't an instant contributor. But he's the type of STs gut that you bring back if you can.
He was cut because Salas took him over on ST and his CB play is garbage hence why no one grabbed him... can't imagine how bad Leon Mc must have looked lol
"Ellis how did it feel to get the call to be back with the Jets?" "I was like um...like umm...I was like umm...."
I had a lot of fun with that, but he's a really good guy, I don't feel right about making fun of his speech impediment anymore.
Same as everyone else, surprised we let him go in the first place. Very glad he's back. He played very well towards the back end of last season, think he got a sack as well?
I was surprised that he didn't get flagged, and every time I see it I expect to see a flag. Unless I hear this in the background. Then I expect to see an American flag.
lol, wow, that song's cheesy. I looked it up and saw Jim Steinman, writer of bloated 'epics' wrote it. Figures.
Like many I was confused with his release, provides us with good depth and some ST bodies. Glad he's back.
I had hopes Lankster would develop into a solid bench player this past camp and pre-season. But it does tell us something that no one else picked him up when he was cut. Whatever we think here, the market does not value Lankster as deserving of beign on an NFL team.
Liked him a lot but now I'm wondering how much of it is hometown bias. When he was cut, I thought he'd be snapped up quickly because of his special teams play.
