So . . . . are we going to do anything about Willie Colon?

I thought we would've handled this in the offseason but I guess not. Are we going to leave this penalty machine on the field?

Just have to hope Dozier or Aboushi are ready for 2015. Specifically Dozier.

Colon's injury prone so Oday might get a serious look.

Colon does what he wants, someone needs to tell him cut this shit out. Pretty much need to hope that Dozier or Oday step up.

    Colon is a penalty monster

Colon's not being taken out unless by injury. He's a team leader and it would hurt the locker room to bench him.

He has to step it up on pass protection. This is his job this year.

They wouldn't sit him but he needs to have a fire under him lit already. He's been a penalty machine

Make him cut his dreds if he gets 10 more penalties before the bye.

I guess only guys like Mangold or D-Brick as players can tell him to cut that shit out

He is a flag machine at times and always does it when the offense is moving and has a big gain.

I hate this bullshit rationalization which is exactly how Rex and many other coaches think. Team leaders don't get penalties every 2nd or 3rd drive. Don't care how he acts in the locker room, the guy sucks and needs to be replaced ASAP.

He does not suck, he plays one of the most demanding positions in the game and while I do get mad when I hear a flag on him, he did not get all the flags.

That is a position that can destroy the ability of the offense if you can't fill it with a another good lineman.

Honestly I don't know what can be done to address it, I just know they need to address it on both sides, the defense also took some bad penalties.

he brings a lot of toughness and aggressiveness to the line which the jets seem to want from that side of the line. however, there should be a breaking point where his leadership, toughness or what have you means nothing next to his recklessness.

luckily we have a couple guys waiting on the sidelines to take his place. Aboushi or Dozier are gonna assume reps at RG sooner or later, if Colon does this too often, we can expect them to come in.

Cmon, you're sugar coating it. The penalties from other players are fixable. However, Colon has been a penalty machine ever since he's been here. In other words, Colon is not learning or changing.

both of our guards are penalty machines. It does not bode well for our chances against better teams.

Get him to lose 35 pounds. He has very little mobility which forces him to reach and hold.

Colon had 13 penalties last year, Richards Sherman was 2nd or 3d in the league last year with 10, Mo Wilkerson was 6th last year with 8, what is your opinion as to what should be done with those players?

I'm not sugar coating anything, I hate the penalties just as much as you and every other poster on this board.

But his contribution to the Oline outweighs the cons, and I would rather have a good line man with the occasional flag, than a bad line man who does not get penalties.....Wayne "Turnstile" Hunter anyone?

Guards that play all fired up and regularly open holes for the RB's are hard to come by. I think Colon is fine for now. If he was a tackle getting a lot of holding penalties things might be different.

We don't see the film of Willie's good blocks. The coaches weigh the positives and negatives based on the game films. We have no way to judge that at all from our vantage point. Let them do their jobs.

Willie Colon isn't nearly as good at his position as Sherman is at his. The penalties are close to making him a minus player if they don't already which is probably why the Steelers let him go.
