This thread should be closed because it was based on inaccurate facts in the initial post.

Dennis Allen's trying to save his job, and this point he's desperately hoping Carr is his "saviour"

Need to get in his face so that he doesn't have time to let the deep patterns develop. Kid has a big arm and the knock on him was he'd have a tendency to trust it too much by throwing off his back foot when rushed.

The first time Rex Ryan coached Jets faced rookie QB they are 5-1, the QB's had a combined 45% completion percentage, they were sacked 23 times and threw 7 INTs to 5 TDs. The average margin of victory was 9.5 pts. The only loss was against the Seahawks and Wilson only threw 19 passes, Lynch did the damage on the ground.
    2009 Jets 26- Bucs 3
    2010 Jets 26-Browns 20
    2012 Jets 23-Phins 20
    2012 Jets 35- Indy 9
    2012 Jets 7-Seattle 28
    2013 Jets 48-Bills 28
Manuel did decent in his second try against the Jets but didn't tear it up. Missing one other game I can't think of right now.
    2013 Jets 14- Bills 37

Whether or not Carr looked good against Seattle really doesn't matter. It was the fourth preseason game - all scrubs. You'll see Sunday. He may hit a couple of long passes but that'll be it. I expect the Jets offense to dominate the game and control the ball. I also think the secondary issues are slightly over rated. Walls and Allen aren't world beaters as starting CBs but it should be fine for this game. Once Milliner comes back next week and if Pryor is the real deal I think the secondary will be OK barring further injuries....

Hope is not a strategy, change is not a destination.

so...you're saying under the present coach and generally present roster we've stifled rookie QBs but because of something that happened during the Al Groh season we should be concerned...you make ZERO sense.

They won't lose to Oakland and if they do they will go 0-16.

No, it just means we'll go to Lambeau and beat the Packers.

They will be so down if they lose that game they could easily lose the next 6 (which they could anyway) and if they start out 0-7 watch out.

Wonder what the Titans record was against rookie QBs in the 60's? If we knew that we might be able to judge how Carr will do this Sunday.
