This is a fan base that preferred Wayne Chrebet to Keyshawn Johnson. A slow, undrafted possession receiver from Hofstra over a #1 overall draft pick from USC, who single-handedly won a playoff game for us (against the Jags) and ended up winning a SB with the Bucs, even though his QB was Brad Johnson. A fan base that was all giddy over signing a washed up 60 year old Brett Favre lol. ....Jets fans never cease to bewilder and amaze me. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a fan base loyal to the Mets and Jets would not understand how you build a winning organization in sports.

Gates has some speed which he uses effectively against pre-season scrubs. Unfortunately, when facing real talent he disappears. At this point he is a one trick pony with limited upside so there is really no reason he should even warrant consideration. Gates has absolutely nothing, under any scenario, to do with a winning organization. Just say no......
