Great post.Nobody is claiming the Jets are somehow superior to the Giants but quite often the teams flip in their success/failure on a year to year basis. Giants certainly have been significantly better in the postseason but It's not like the Jets are bottom feeders What is ridiculous is the way the 2 teams get covered. Everybody thinks the Jets are the thugs & the talkers. Remember those late 90's/early 00 Giants team under Fassel as well as the early Coughlin days. Guys like Tiki Barber, michael Strahan, Kerry Collins & Jeremy shockey talked shit to any media outlet that would listen. Far worse than anything out Rex or anyone else of this current Jets squad.This past season players were calling eachother out on the Fan in nearly every interview. They're not the tem first choir boys the public thinks they are Yet all we ever hear is how the Giants are the class act, football first entity & the Jets are underachieving headline chasers.To me....this is the real injustice of this rivalry. Quite often Giant beat writers like Vaccaro & Serby make fun of the Jets on twitter. It's unprofessional & laughable. I wish Rex would call out those clowns. The real downside in the argument for the Jets is now dead. There really was no comeback to "Giants stadium"...thank god that's a parking lot now.

During the Bengals game 2 weeks back he was claiming the Giants have like 6 corners on roster who would immediately be the best DB on the Jets(unprovoked via twitter).Perhaps Prince has a fair argument but after that..give me a break. DRC has been on 4 teams in 4 years & can't tackle worth crap. Thurmond is a solid nickel but nothing more.All the guys he noted after that aren't even on par w/ their equal depth chart place on Jets(Ala Lankster/Walls etc).When myself & other Jet fans pointed this out he never responded. I then tweeted him again to remind him that all 3 of the Jets TE's(who will make the team) would easily start foir Giants right now & that TE isn't even a Jets position of strength. Again no response

Sports franchises were typically named after cities, not states. The Minnesota Twins I think started the trend in the other direction. East Rutherford is essentially a suburb of NYC, or at least its arguable. In any event, Buffalo is really part of Ohio for all intents and purposes.
