Here is mine, slightly changed from my post G&W Scrimmage prediction:

    OFFENSE (23)
QB (2) - Smith, Vick - Free up a roster spot and try to get Boyd to the PS. Neither has "earned" a roster spot this year and each spot is needed.

RB (4) - Johnson, Ivory, Powell, Richardson - I like Richardson a lot and he will be good insurance for CJ. The other 3 are locks. I don't think Bohanon makes the 53. He didn't do much last year and takes up a valuable roster spot. Could be a spot for Sudfield to get more action on occasion.

WR (6) - Decker, Kerley, Hill, Nelson, Saunders, Salas - I'm assuming Evans will go on IR and the top 5 slots are already determined. That leaves 1 or 2 slots for about 6 guys. With the new kickoff rules I don't see a reason to keep Ford. Therefore reward this "Salsa" guy for his solid camp and pre-season performances.

TE (3) - Amaro, Cumberland, Sudfeld - These 3 are locks imo.

OL (8) - Ferguson, Winters, Mangold, Colon, Giacomini, Aboushi, Freeman, Dozier - I think Aboushi is the swing T and G, while Freeman is the backup C and G. Possible we keep both Dozier and Campbell but I think they start with 8 and look at cuts for another T.

    DEFENSE (30)
DL (6) - Wilkerson, Harrison, Richardson, Ellis, Douzable, TJ.Barnes - Mo and DROY won't come off the field much but Douzable will back them up. Barnes has amazing size and quickness so there's no way he clears waivers. He gets spot duty this year and replaces Ellis next year. Wow...even our "2nd" DL rotation is pretty damn good!

OLB (7) - Coples, Pace, Babin, McIntyre, T.Davis, Reilly, Enemkpali - Barnes goes on the PUP, which gives McIntyre and Reilly at least 6 weeks to compete. Expect them both to get a lot of ST action until then. Gotta love IK...let's give this dude a spot!

ILB (4) - Harris, D.Davis, Bellore, Edds - This guy Edds has made some plays in camp and pre-sesason. Gotta reward players who make a case for themselves with strong showings.

CB (5) - Milliner, Patterson, Wilson, Walls, Lankster - Dowling has a lot of skill but the dude can't stay healthy. For me it came down to Dowling vs IK for the final slot. One guy has practiced and made big plays in pre-season while the other has been on the stationary bike. Easy choice, particularly with double-A capable of playing some CB if needed.

S (5) - Pryor, Landry, Allen, Jarrett, Miles - I think Miles has shown enough to make the squad. Bush has fallen out of favor because there's a lot of talent in front of him.

ST (3) - Folk, Quigley, Purdum - It would be great if Freeman could become the LS and free up this roster spot.

    IR: Evans, Cunningham, McDougle
    PUP: A.Barnes

Practice Squad (8) - QB Boyd, OL Campbell, WR Enunwa, WR Hakim, LB George, LB Divitto, DL Hyder, CB Dixon

Pretty spot on to what is likely going to happen.

    Hard to argue with this

IMO I would rather have Simms on the practice squad. Simms is hardworker, knows the offense, and is much better than Taj Boyd. I really think that with enough practice and experience in this league Simms can be our backup eventually.

It looks pretty good, but I have one complaint. Seven OLBs, plus one on PUP? Shouldn't they load up on lottery tickets at corner and hope somebody sticks instead? I would at the very least cut Davis in favor of Dixon or maybe even another team's camp cut.

I cant see Davis, Bellore, Reilly and Edds all making the final roster. To me only 2 of em make it.

    I think Simms squeaks in.

Id give Dixon an egde too.

Jets are absolutely going to carry a third QB. They almost have to because Vick is a huge injury risk.

Yep. whether you want them to or not. They are keeping 3. Marty Morninweg and Rex Ryan are coaches that traditionally keep 3.

This roster isn't bad...but it's based on un-bias outside opinion....not what the team actually thinks. (which is very biased). There's no way Trevor Reilly makes the team. Everytime they are asked about Rontez, Rex defers to another safety.

I like Salas more than Clyde Gates, but the Jets have made it REALLY clear that they prefer Clyde Gates.

by playing Salas with the ones and Gates with the backups?

Reilly's got a shot, he'll tale Bellores spot. Its the fact that he can play inside too that will help him out.

There's no way Reilly is making it. Salas can make it, but he'll have to have an outstanding game. Both of them were playing, you just didn't see Gates make plays until later.

Right!...and then-* BOOM*, Clyde Gates is announced to be the teams NUMBER ONE WIDE RECEIVER and is given a 6 year 100 million dollar contract, fully guaranteed. Nobody will see it coming, Belichick and Brady's heads explode from the laughter and we take the division. Iz BRILLIANT!

Was gates really out there in the first half? never noticed him if true.

Salas has had a very good camp, the odds are in his favor,r its all matter of how much the jets wanna keep hill and then how much Ford real provides as a KR.

Reilly's got a chance, versatility, drive, special teams prowess, he has what it takes to make the roster.

They've been absolutely gushing about Clyde Gates as if he was gonna be the next Jerry Rice. I'm not taking away from Salas, I WANT him to make it over Clyde. It's just not gonna happen...they are in love with Clyde Gates.

Trevor Reilly would have to beat out AJ Edds and Jeremiah George to make the roster. McIntyre and Bellore are favorites of Rex's. They also are impact ST players. Jeremiah George is a 5th round Idzik pick who they played with their 1st team offense. They've already said they almost didn't pick Reilly because of his age. Reilly has shown some nice things in special teams...but he's gonna be a project and a guy they want on the practice squad. AJ Edds has just been outstanding as the Jets preseason leading tackler.

I don't see Reilly making the team...he's an ideal practice squad candidate and with depth at DT, WR, and HB, they aren't keeping 10 LBs.

You're absolutely right when you say Salas and Reilly DESERVE to make the roster. But that doesn't matter. Just because players deserve a spot doesn't mean team will give it to them. Teams favor players over others for whatever reason.

I haven't seen the first half of either game so I haven't seen if Bohannon has shown any life - any comments? I did see some of the second half and liked the aggressiveness of Young, including one play where he pissed off the guy he was blocking enough to have the guy take a swing and knock his helmet off. Too bad the refs missed it and too bad Young didn't chop the guy down to his size. He looked pretty tough on special teams but sometimes it was hard to see if it was him or Edds since they're both #47. I think there's virtually no chance they go with no fullback.

QB (2) - Smith, Vick ==== like it.
RB (4) - Johnson, Ivory, Powell, Richardson === like it. I'm no on Bohanan too.
WR (6) - Decker, Kerley, Hill, Nelson, Saunders, Salas === like it, - especially Salas. Geno seems to have developed chemistry with him.
TE (3) - Amaro, Cumberland, Sudfeld ====== easy check
OL (8) - Ferguson, Winters, Mangold, Colon, Giacomini, Aboushi, Freeman, Dozier
I think they keep 9 OL (Ijalana is the 9th). Its actually a lot considering that Ferguson & Mangold are so durable. Get William Campbell to the practice squad again please - I dream of a Brandon Moore sequel.
DL (6) - Wilkerson, Harrison, Richardson, Ellis, Douzable, TJ.Barnes === I like the 6 DL idea, despite the feeling that Wilk, Richardson, Harrison & Douzable are pretty durable guys. I agree about TJ Barnes not possibly clearing wavers, - but he would be our 3rd NT. I like him, but Kerry Hyder could make active 53. This might be a question of who can clear wavers more easily - Barnes or Hyder.
OLB (7) - Coples, Pace, Babin, McIntyre, T.Davis, Reilly, Enemkpali ====== I'd cut this to 6. Trevor Reilly should head to the practice squad. I doubt anyone would sign him to their active roster. Troy Davis is key for our Special Teams. I agree - Enemkpali should make the 53.
ILB (4) - Harris, D.Davis, Bellore, Edds ==== yes. Agreed - Jeremiah George to the practice squad.
CB (5) - Milliner, Patterson, Wilson, Walls, Lankster ===== bump this to 6 with either Johnny Patrick or even Brandon Dixon included. Theoretically, you could put Ras I Dowling in this group (until he certainly gets hurt) & then stash Brandon Dixon on the practice squad awaiting to be called up. I could be wrong, but the monkey wrench is adding Johnny Patrick to the PS as well, but not sure if you can do that since the guy was on the Chargers active roster previously.
S (5) - Pryor, Landry, Allen, Jarrett, Miles ----- sorry, but this goes to 4 as Miles is the odd guy out again.
ST (3) - Folk, Quigley, Purdum ===== agreed.

I think you have to error on the side of keeping less linebackers due to having a versatile front & system and keep more offensive lineman.

No way the jets keep 7 OLBs - I think last year they had 4 - pace, couples, barnes & Mcintyre. My guess is they keep 5 this year - pace, couples, babin, Mcintyre and one of Davis, Reilly or EMC - at this point I'd guess EMC gets the nod. Antwan Barnes will be PUP (or IR with ability to return after 8 games) and they might or might not bring him back depending on their needs. If they can bring Barnes back later then they have even less reason to carry extra OLBs

4 ILBs sounds right - last year the jets had 3, but Rex has said in some interviews that he was scared to death they didn't have enough depth if someone got hurt.

5 DLs is probably where we end up - remember that couples can slide back to DE (and does sometimes). Barnes probably ends up on the practice squad.

5 Safeties/5 Corners sounds right - the AA experiment to CB was to see if the jets could carry one more safety and one less CB. I think Rex normally likes to have 6 CBs. If you can move allen over to CB if things go bad, then you can carry 5 CBs and an extra safety (Miles). I wouldn't be shocked to see the jets carry an additional CB anyway, probably Dowling but it could be Dixon. Personally between Jarret and Miles, I'd go for Miles because I think the jets could use another cover safety.

so I freed up 3 more slots - 2 OLB (because I reduced from 7 to 5) and 1 DL. I'd also go with the jets carrying 3 QBs and I think Simms is the third QB. I also think the jets are going to want a backup tackle on the roster, so they'll keep Ijalana. That leaves one spot left and that will go to either a FB (Bohanon/Young) or an extra CB (Dowling/Dixon).

There's also a chance the jets go with 5 WRs and cut either Hill or Nelson. The jets have a couple of good receiving TEs and can split out Johnson wide and that means the jets don't need as many WRs. If they do that then they can have both the FB and an extra CB.

I just think its risky to only carry 2 QB's when one is Michael Vick. He gets hurt A LOT.

I think we will be really risking things if we only go with two QB's - both runners who could get hurt, and in Vicks case the next injury could be the last

What is all this talk about a third QB if we have Vick?
Hard to get hurt if you're holding a clip board. He is a mentor on a one year contract. We are not building this team around Vick, we are building it around a guy that has some of those skills but hopefully develops better decision making.

I love how loaded we are at Safety now, last year we came in only having a lesser Landry and hope.

I think Lankster should get more looks maybe more Walls, I don't have any faith in Patterson and don't see any evidence why he should be a #2.
