hey guys im a raider fan coming from oakland to ny for week one. i just want to know what to expect as far as stadium. transportation, anything you guys tell me will be great help thanks, good luck this season go Raiders!
Parking is readily available, don't even think about paying for a parking pass--they are a rip-off. Drive up to Gate Q off of Patterson Board Road and you should be able to get into the circus stable near the skating rink for $25. _
Watch your black hole, 'cause when our D gets penetration on that O, you might find yourself with a case of gang green.
Really neat halftime tradition, go out to the spiral at Gate D. Chicks show off their boobs there and the shiny new quarters you haven't used to tip attendants you can throw at them. _
http://www.njtransit.com/sf/sf_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=MeadowlandsTo Usually take the train to Jets games. I'll board from Penn Station which is right next to Madison Square Garden. There are kiosks not too far away from turnstiles to purchase tickets. I've noticed some teller windows but I haven't used myself so I can't tell you if the service is good or bad. A transfer is needed but it's a short walk and it's impossible to get lost; just follow the massive sea of Jets jerseys. Like most stadiums, the food/drinks are overpriced and you can't bring in anything. So I'd highly recommend you eat/drink before arriving.
Not true. You are allowed to bring in anything the size of or smaller than a Long Island Grandma's pizza, as long as it's in a closed opaque package/backpack. _
Hey RaiderFan Where are you planning to stay? Jersey or Manhattan? I suggest you find a cheap hotel in Manhattan as there is really nothing you can do on the Jersey saide except maybe hitting Hoboken area where there are plenty of bars. If you stay in Manhattan you can go to the game in two ways. 1) Take the NJ Transit train from Penn Station, change the train at Seacacus and head to Meadowlands where the stadium is. 2) Take Coach USA #351 to the game from Transport Authority Bus Terminal at 42nd Street in Manhattan. It is cheaper than the train. 5 bucks each way. Do your google searches on above to get the details. If you decide to stay in Jersey side, try to stay at a hotel where it has close access to NJ Transit trains. Parking is expensive but you can find from Stubhub if you want. Orange parking is the cheapest, green parking is the most expensive. If you have to come by car and park, you need to arrive early if possible. When you are late chances are you will have hard time finding a good spot. If you arrive at 10 AM or 11 AM for a 1 PM game, you are fine. About the game, check the Jets website so that you know what you can bring in. Also if you want to wear your Raider jersey, I suggest you find another Raider fan to go to game with. During the game or after the game, some might want to mess with you seeing that you are alone. Always a good idea to go to opposing stadiums with a few more people or not wear your team jersey and be quiet. Food and beer inside is overpriced. Try to bring a few sandwiches and eat before you enter to the stadium. If you want to tailgate, you can join Tailgate Joe. He charges somewhere around 30-35 bucks and you can eat and drink plenty. Google search "tailgate joe" and go from there. I will be at the Raider game as well. Thanks for your good luck wishes. But to me, you guys will lose so think twice before you hop on a plane
But watch for flying beer cups, usually full. Drunk guys get mad when hot chicks refuse to take their tops off. You will however see plenty of fat chicks whip out their puppies. Ahhhh the memories.
If you haven't gotten tickets yet, your best option is the upper deck. Great view of the entire field, deceiving close, high-speed elevators that will whisk you to and from your seats in seconds and virtually no bathroom or concession lines. _
