First impression, LOL MIAMI But it's interesting that even after a decent size contract to Decker, we're still pretty low on the graph. We really are not paying a lot for everyone besides him.
I guess it's because the guy who's been our most reliable receiver the last couple years (Kerley) is barely making over $500k. We won't have that luxury after this season; either we're going to pay him better and keep him or we're going to lose him.
I can't imagine Kerley is going to break the bank. Edelman just had 100 reception 1000 yard season and got 4 years 17 million. I can see Kerley getting maybe 3 million a season or so. A lot of it depends how well he does this year though.
I personally think they brought Saunders in to replace Kerley.. Kerley doesn't fit the D-Jax mold that Marty wants in a slot guy.. I would love to keep Kerley as he is one of my favorite players, but I just don't see it happening unless he has an amazing breakout season this year.
3 years 11 million for Kerley I would take in a second. 4 years 14 I would too. He could be poised for a big year so I wouldnt mind locking him up early.
GB will be going way up next year. Nelson and Cobb will be getting big pays next off season. We're in a good spot. If the rookies don't show promise and Hill doesn't improve we'll be able spend again next season for another outside guy.
https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/03/28/eagles-release-desean-jackson/ D-Jax plays on the outside the majority of the time, not in the slot. 22 percent of his 2013 snaps were in the slot. Jalen Saunders has shown the ability to play on the outside in college - that's not to say he can at the pro-level (we don't know yet). It could be possible that Saunders came to replace Kerley. We don't know. I believe we should keep both Saunders and Kerley - they are 2 different players, with 2 different skill-sets. I do know Geno plays better when Kerley is out there on the field - that I do know and for that reason he should not be let go. Retain the in-house talent that is worth a damn.
To add - Jets made a mistake already when they let a reliable receiver in Cotchery go - I don't think they should fall for the same trick twice.
Just wait until tomorrow's thread: NFL Team Power Rankings by Tallest Punters on 80-Man Roster, Weighted Average.
Tampa Bay has the potentially best starting duo for the money in the league. They were smart enough to get rid of Revis AND their HC. We are half way there.
There was no logic used in bringing in any WRs this year via the draft. Otherwise when we missed out on getting Brandon Cook in the first, we would have drafted Bruce Ellington in the 3rd.
With that beautiful list of WR FA's in 2015.. Hope Stevie J can make Crabtree moveable.. Hope Dez cost too much for Dallas or he leaves to avoid being ANdre Johnson pt 2. Mayne Nicks doesnt work in Indy... Or Broncos spending spree could cost them DT... come on Somebody gotta test the market!! We'll have plenty of money and promise to offer for sure!
Management doesn't care about the position. Not really. Rex is too busy tweaking his defense all the time, and still hasn't learned you need to be able to score some damn points on offense in order to win in this league. And it takes playmakers to do so on a consistent basis. Hopefully Calvin Pryor is great. you can't have everybody, but it still bothers me that this guy could have been ours and we said no thanks. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/9404/brandin-cooks if any rookie WR has a chance to turn some heads it is him in that Saints offense.
