I really think we have some good young QBs in this division. Do you think we can throwback to the 90s with three pro bowl QBs? It would be great to see the Patriots draft another Tony Eason after Tom Brady.
tannehill sucks manual is too young to have an opinion on. he can ball but he also is a little underwhelming at the position. of course im going to sound like the hugest homer ever here, but geno really is the best prospect of the group. tannehill is playing in the same offense he played in in college and he still looks like a rookie out there. manuel plays a good game but im not sold on him just yet. im not sold on geno just yet either but as far as i can see he is head and shoulders above ej. i know im going to sound crazy here, but im really intrigued by tajh boyd. the guy has had a couple of huge games surrounded by general mediocrity. he throws a good ball, but sometimes you wonder about his accuracy and placement. overall i think he might be the kind of guy that just needs a year or two to hone his technique but is such a gamer that the position comes naturally to him. geno seems to have those traits as well but really this is just a case of wanting to see what we havent yet. if geno cleans up his footwork and learns to translate film study to on the field play we may have ourselves a real deal qb. but if not, i think boyd can come in and give us a little glimmer of hope. the only thing about geno that im sure of, is that hes got a higher ceiling than sanchez. mark may have been more polished and had better technique, but there has to be something said for geno's gamesmanship; something that i felt sanchez really lacked. i always thought if sanchez could learn to take that lead role and to actually want to be that guy that decides the fate of the team we could have had something special, but indecision and a mediocre football iq led to the implosion of a talented player. he may do better in a smaller market since his problems are mental, but he needs to be able to take command on the field; something i feel geno has been much better at even as a rookie.
You could just as easily compare them to Sanchez, Henne, & whoever the last scrub was up in Buff. Bottom line is it's way too early to tell
Of all the quarterbacks that have ever played in the AFC East, Tannehill, Manuel, and Smith are definitely some of them.
Hard for me to compare em..mainly cause Marino's first 2 seasons will probably be twice as good as anything any of these QBs will ever do. Tannehill and Geno fail this year and they're done. I'm sure Manuel will get a longer leash but not by much.
Interesting thread. It's too early to judge EJ or Geno one way or another. Between the 3 Tannehill is easily the best. We need at least another year or 2 before we can say these 3 comes close to Marino/Kelly/O'Brien.
Geno was by far the worst QB in the entire NFL - and he's following Sanchez's suit just fine; El nacho was 35th-best QB in 32-team league.
Marino a HOF qb. Kelly who alone has been to more super bowls than our entire franchise. The hell is this
Dude, reread what you just wrote. It's asinine. I get that you haven't been watching football very long but geezuz, learn a little bit about the history of league. It's as if you said--"Obama just needs another term to see if he's close to Lincoln, Washington and FDR". _
I nominate this thread to be tossed in the toilet where it belongs, please don't disrespect O'Brien by comparing him to Smith or EJ to Kelley or Tannehill to Marino, judging by your 2 threads, I'm assuming ur a troll, because they are both ludicrous
I know what I said. I know Kelly and Marino are greats. I'm not saying EJ, Geno, or Tannehill are on their level. I'm saying let's see if EJ and Geno can develop into solid starters before claiming they are on par with all time great QB's. If they develop then you can make this thread. I understand what the OP is trying to say. It may not have been expressed very well though.
