With Sheldon Richardson being at 94 where do you think Big Mo will end up? He has to be a shoe in now that we've seen Sheldon at 94. I've been waiting to hear his name called but at the same time I'm hoping he doesn't for awhile. I'm thinking he will be in the range of 38
There are probably 20-25 Offensive players that do a better job at their position and another 10-15 Defensive players, so yeah, somewhere between 30-40. Edit: there are 32 teams, so each team 'should' have 3+ players in the top 100. Some will have more, some will have none. How many do you think the Jets end up with? 2?
It looks like Mo will be in the next episode. 41-50. Yea I think it will just be Sheldon and Wilkerson. I don't see another player on the Jets being higher then Wilkerson. So 2 Jets, 3 if you count Decker
Yeah if Mo isn't on the next episode I would start to wonder if he even made the top 100. IMO there's no question Mo should be ranked in the top 100, especially since Richardson made it (and I believe he deserved so as well) and I have Mo ahead of him. I haven't seen the last episode or two but I would imagine Decker will be on the list since Welker made it and Decker had a better season. Other than three 3 players I don't see another Jet on the list. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
Mo is elite at his position and probably the best 5 tech outside of Watt. He's as good as anybody against the run and to have 10.5 sacks at that position is crazy.
The sacks are a bit misleading, not because Mo Wilk isn't a good pass rusher, because he is, but because Rex moves him around so much on the defensive front. It'd be nice to see a breakdown on his sacks at some point in terms of where he lined up on the play.
I disagree, Mo is a very good pass rusher, he wouldn't have racked up 10.5 sacks. For an interior lineman (5 tech is functionally an interior line position) that's elite, and there's only one other non-edge player that had a higher sack total. He'll never rack up the sack numbers of the edge rushers, but that's not his job. Just for reference, Justin Smith has never had more than 8.5 sacks, and Warren Sapp only ever had two seasons with higher sack totals in his career, and he's a HOF'er (at 3-tech, which is more of a pass rushing position than a primarily 5 tech anyway). 5-techs that are as good against the run as Mo are rare. Ones that can do that and also get after the QB are very special players.
My point was: where did his sacks come from? Did they come from the 5 in a 3 man front? Did they come from the 3 in a 4 man front? Did they come from outside in a 4 man front? Pegging him as a 5 is misleading because he plays many more positions than that for Rex's defense. As a straight 5 he probably would have had 6 or 7 sacks last season. Being used the way he did he had a lot more than that.
he won't be there because the media hates on the jets, previous top 100s didn't even have sheldon richardson / mo i'd rather have it like that, let the haters hate
Mangold is a good center, but he's competing against 32*53=1,696-1=1695 other players on offense and defense. But it would be fun to have 4 guys on the list....Sheldon, Mo, Decker, Mangold.
We cant take credit for decker so that doesnt even count. Knowing how the jets play he wont be back on that list next year if he is on there this year lol! i agree though, 3 Jets should be on the list. The sons. They all deserve to be on the top 100. Big Snacks put up some of the best numbers for a 3-4 NT in a while this year as far as making run stops. I shouldnt have to speak on why Mo should be on there. anyway just my opinion!
You do have a point, but regardless 10.5 sacks is elite for an interior lineman. There was nobody over 300 lbs that had more sacks than he did last year.
