I want to give the young guys a shot 1st so it's irrelevant but...

Why are people suggesting that Incognito would be a locker room cancer? The guy was generally beloved by all of his teammates. Even when the nastiest and most racist comments came out both black and white teammates defended him.

Yes, that's exactly what the Green & White circus needs, a mental case who is just going to cause tons of problems.

I think he'd make a great mentor for Dozier, Winters could definitely use a few titty twisters.

In 2004 he was suspended and dismissed from the University of Nebraska football team
In 2004 he was dismissed from the University of Oregon team after one week on the team
In 2009 he was waived by the Rams after numerous on the field and off the field issues
In 2010 the Bills declined to resign him after one year
In 2013 he was suspended and cut by the Dolphins

Notice a pattern? Incognito has been dismissed or kicked off every team he has played for since high school. And you and some others want him in a Jets uniform and in the Jets locker room?????? If you look up asshole in the dictionary you see his picture. Any fan that wants him on the Jets is an idiot. No way in the world Idzik brings him here, thank God.

    Very well said. Excellent points.

Bingo. Thank you for taking the time to post the actual facts.

The fact is that he is a better than above average offensive lineman who is versatile and durable. If he takes the proper measures to atone for his racist bullying of Jonathan Martin to the extent that Martin is willing to publicly forgive him for his actions, there's no way he won't find a job. All this other talk about his being a locker room cancer is baseless blather.

Given a choice between having a matador, substandard solution at the guard position or Incognito at the vet minimum on a one year deal, I'd take the latter without a moments hesitation.

Actually as it was listed - we have a pile of young guys itching to win a starting job. Rob Turner is a journeyman guard/center ... no I do not feel he would be a major upgrade over what we currently have other than experience (which I agree does count for something). I guess I would rather wait a bit before deciding the depth I currently have is a pile of dogshit. There will be journeyman type guards available come cut down time if needed.

No. Prior to your post, I never once mentioned wanting to have him signed by the Jets. The only circumstances under which I would find signing him as acceptable would be if we were unable to fill the position with an at least average quality level player from either our current roster or from the FA/trade market.

Oh please,If Martin would have stood up for himself early on none of this would have happend.Let's stop comparing what Vick did to locker room hazing that went to far,its not on the same level or the same planet.

I didn't say that bullying was worse than killing dogs. I said that an unrepentant victimizer shouldn't be trusted in the locker room- and at this point that's exactly what Incognito is.

The reports say that the Dolphins were telling Incognjto to bully Martin to "toughen him up." So, let's stop blaming the victim.

As far as I'm concerned, he can stay available. IMO Jets fans greatly overrated Turner when he was here. Since then the blocking schemes and styles have been changed and Turner is no longer a fit, even if he were quality depth, which he isn't imo.

Turner played in a stock WCO zone blocking scheme. I'm not rooting for him to come back, but he's hardly a bad fit.

I agree. Crazy as this may sound, it just might….just might….dawn on that POS that if picked up that he'd be on his last leg because if he screwed up again after last year's mess that it would confirm that the guy's a lost cause. I think some team will pick him up while impressing upon him that they will not cut him any slack as far as his dirtbag act goes.

(sick of the Jet's preoccupation & fascination picking up "cleft-over" Dolphag retreads the past few years)
