from 1 to 32, STARTERS ONLY.

I know that some starting jobs are in question, but I'll make it easy, for teams with high end rookies use the incumbent or veteran starter on roster. every team with a top rookie has one this year and projecting where a rookie ranks before they play a snap isn't fair. For teams like the Jets and texans, pick you're likely candidate to start week 1.

    1. P. Manning
    2. Rodgers
    3. Brady
    4. Brees
    5. Rothlisberger
    6. Ryan
    7. Romo
    8. A. Smith
    9. Rivers
    10. Luck
    11. Stafford
    12. Newton
    13. Kapernick
    14. Wilson
    15. Cutler
    16. Griffin III
    17. Flacco
    18. Bradford
    19. E. Manning
    20. Dalton
    21. Foles
    22. Tannehill
    23. Palmer
    24. Shaub
    25. Cassel
    26. Locker
    27. McCown
    28. G. Smith
    29. Manuel
    30.Fitzpatrick
    31. Henne
    32. Hoyer

I think it's too subjective to go much past 10 and be accurate. I also think the top 10 QB's come out of a group of maybe 14 guys tops and then every once in a while a young guy cracks the top 10.

In your list the only real quibbles I have are Tony Romo and Alex Smith, neither of whom is a top 10 QB. Romo doesn't win enough although he has the stats and Smith really isn't a particularly good QB. Smith has had some great defenses behind him and has been asked only to game manage by his teams. I'd put Wilson up in the back end of the top 10 at this point. Matt Ryan needs to have a good season this year and he needs the Falcons to win some games or he's going to drop down to the teens also.

We're about to get a major shakeup in the rankings in the next couple of years. Peyton, Brady and Brees are all getting up there and Roethlisberger is no spring chicken either.

Ranking for this year only, or ranking for the next few years?

I agree, Smith and Romo are too high. I would sneak Romo at the #10 spot. Big Ben might be too high for me too. But outside the top 4, it becomes a guessing game really. You can slice the list into "tiers" but within those tiers is a toss up and around 3-5 player shift tiers each year

Hoyer > Henne, Fitzpatrick, Manuel, Locker, and Cassel IMO.

I agree about top 32 being nearly impossible, but still sounds like an awesome idea. Another way to settle it for undecided qb teams, is to just rank them as an overall qb unit. For example you could put 31 Jaguars 32 Browns, since you really don't have much an idea.

Geno Smith better than Manuel? Man, you guys can't even be objective o_O

Manuel has better stats in basically every single category. Come on guys...

what are we ranking? is it on #s or who we'd rather have to win a big game? 2 very different discussions.

It's like comparing who's shit smells less, but Manuel isn't anything special at all. Better stats? yea because he played half as many games and they held him back considerably in the games he did.. you aren't biased though

I think you got to have Brady no.1
I think you have Romo, Alex Smith (for sure) and Luck too high
I think you have Newton, Kaepernick and Wilson too low

-theres NO way Sam Bradford is better than 14 other QBs in this league. NO way. Especially when you include 2-time SB champion Eli.. Dalton and Cutler in those 14

I'd take Bradford over Dalton without hesitation even with the injury concerns. The Bengals have a championship-caliber squad outside of QB.

Thankfully, they drafted AJ McCarron this year. He's more of a sucky douche than Dalton is.

ehh.. I disagree I guess. People like to beat up on Dalton, unfairly I think. He's not great by any means but he's definitely a top 15 QB. They might have talent, but they also sucked forever until he's been there. I think he deserves credit for making that talent work as it has, at least in the regular season. He will get over his playoff struggles. He's also consistent which I don't think should be overlooked.

Bradford hasn't done ANYTHING. People still talk about him like he's relevant for some reason. I don't think he's good. I thought they should've taken a chance on Manziel with their second 1st round pick

Dalton is streaky. When He's on... he can be up there in the top 5 imo. BUT... When he's not.... It can be REALLY UGLY!!!

    1. Wilson is a better QB then Alex Smith, and Kaepernick.
    2. I also think despite Eli's poor season, he's still better than players like Flacco on that list.

People tend to lump Wilson and Kaepernick together, probably because they will both be third year players for closely matched division rivals. But I would take Wilson higher any day of the week. He's a much more efficient Qb. I also continue to have great respect for Brady, but I do think we have seen signs that he is entering the twilight of his career. Right now I would take Rodgers over him, and perhaps Brees, too.

Can't understand why Rivers does not rate more highly. He had a real resurgence this past season.

FGIII imo is living off his supernova rookie season. His sophomore year showed he's got health and even leadership issues.

Very true, and to me Wilson is a guy that just makes everyone around him better. Jermaine Kearse, I mean this guy came out of no-where at receiver for the Hawks - guy makes plays.

To me, you have to put Rodgers, and Peyton 1, and 2. I'm ok with either order, but they're by far the best QB's in the league. Then the next tier is Brady, and Brees, again in either order. After that, everything could be debated. I plan on making a list soon here tonight.

Manuel learned shoplifting from the best. Maybe he can steal another victory in the AFC east this year, but I doubt it.

    1. Rodgers (best QB rating of all-time)
    2. Manning (best QB of all-time overall, imo)

    3. Brady
    4. Brees

    5. Ryan (don't feel he deserves 5, but IDK who else does..)
    6. Luck
    7. Roethlisberger
    8. Romo (guy can't play defense too..)
    9. Stafford
    10. Wilson
    11. Rivers
    12. Newton
    13. Kaepernick
    14. RG3
    15. Cutler
    16. Alex Smith
    17. Dalton
    18. Foles (will be much higher if proves '13 wasn't fluke)
    19. Flacco
    20. Eli

    I'll stop there.
