Meija completely explodes in the 5th inning, gives up 8 runs. The fact that Collins even kept him in the game is a joke. This is the exact thing that happened last game and there is no way he still should have been in the game.m
Remember that 15-11 moment, boys and girls, because the collapse may be on. What an embarrassingly pathetic performance by the pitching staff.
Gotta give credit to the Rockies hitters too though. The lineup is stacked and Tulo seems primed for a MVP this year if he doesnt get injured again. Can see the difference today with half their bench players in.
I like what I'm seeing out of Niese tonight. Hell, lol, I like just being able to see the Mets on TV (here in the land of the Rays)... ;-)
Another bad loss. The Mets have had the lead in like 90 percent of their games yet are only one game over .500
This team is going to kill me. Niese looked great, but that bullpen is awful. Good to see Granderson coming around. _
IDK why Dice wasnt pulled after the 2nd batter he faced. This isnt a young guy trying to get over the hump. TC should've givin him the hook then. Not that I feel so much more comfortable with Farnsworth or Valverde in there but come on. Everyone saw what was gonna happen if Dice stayed in and it happened.
Mets and Phillies both suck. That was a brutal game to watch. I'll be at the park for Mother's day. I hope I don't get this type of a game.
Josh Satin had no business being in the lineup against a righty. He's just awful. Mets with so many left on base. 1.Juan Lagares grounds out, second baseman Chase Utley to first baseman Ryan Howard. 2.Daniel Murphy singles on a sharp ground ball to right fielder Marlon Byrd. 3.David Wright singles on a line drive to center fielder Ben Revere. Daniel Murphy to 2nd. 4.Curtis Granderson doubles (5) on a line drive to right fielder Marlon Byrd. Daniel Murphy scores. David Wright to 3rd. 5.Chris Young hit by pitch. 6.Josh Satin strikes out swinging. 7.Wilmer Flores flies out to center fielder Ben Revere. 1.Travis d'Arnaud singles on a ground ball to shortstop Jimmy Rollins. 2.Jenrry Mejia out on a sacrifice bunt, catcher Carlos Ruiz to second baseman Chase Utley. Travis d'Arnaud to 2nd. 3.Juan Lagares flies out to right fielder Marlon Byrd. 4.Daniel Murphy walks. 5.David Wright walks. Travis d'Arnaud to 3rd. Daniel Murphy to 2nd. Coaching visit to mound. 6.Curtis Granderson flies out to right fielder Marlon Byrd. 1.Chris Young flies out softly to left fielder Domonic Brown. 2.Josh Satin grounds out, shortstop Jimmy Rollins to first baseman Ryan Howard. 3.Wilmer Flores singles on a sharp ground ball to left fielder Domonic Brown. 4.Travis d'Arnaud singles on a ground ball to left fielder Domonic Brown. So many things happened in that game that can't possibly happen (4 Mets home runs? Duda with two great defensive plays? Granderson hitting a home run? A 3-5-3 double play to end the game?) that I lost count. The Mets can take it and run, I guess.
Montero to start on Wednesday. Great move putting Meija in the bullpen, he can't go the distance. The Mets Generation L should form nicely
DeGromm called up today as well. Smart moves lately by the Metsies. Not a huge fan of Familia but Id rather him get a chance in the 9th then Farnsworth. We easily could've lost that game last night because of him. The guy is not an MLB pitcher anymore.
back to back Mets pitching debuts. Today it's Rafael Montero. Tomorrow it's Jacob DeGrom (announced that Gee has been scratched and DeGrom starts instead).
