    I freakin LOVE this pick.

I just don't underststand some of the 'fans' on this board.

We had glaring holes at SEVERAL positions Safety being one of them. The BPA was on the board in Pryor. Between Hix, Cooks, Dennard and Pryor, you select Pryor hands down, who wasn't even supposed to be there at 18. This draft is DEEP in receivers, We can get Landry, Janis (later on, on day 3), Adams, Lee, etc..etc... just to name a few. We can get Jace Amaro. Austin Sefarin-Jenkins, can drop to us, Allen Robinson, etc..etc.. calm down. We still can get a decent CB and WR as well as a stud TE in this draft with '11' more picks. With the picks we can draft up in the 2nd

Relax some of you....panic if we go ALL D in the draft.

Holy Albert Hall Batman - like the Jets were expected to fill every single "hole" with one pick…

Welcome to the New York Jets "Louisville Slugger."

    Jets Offense for 2014:
WR: Eric Decker signed in addition to only 1 round of a WR-rich draft completed.
RB: Chris Johnson signed giving the Jets speed in the backfield they've never had before.
QB: Michael Vick signed giving Geno Smith a "been there, done that" veteran advisor who's already familiar with the Jet's offensive coordinator.

    Jets Defense for 2014:
A huge hole filled at safety with a player that will be a starter and whom rival offensive coordinator will eventually have to account for. Pryor, Landry, Milliner, Patterson and Wilson: suddenly the defensive backfield doesn't look quite so porous. And suddenly the offense (with 11 picks remaining) doesn't look so feeble.

The Jets did not trade up and as a result, ELEVEN picks still await the Jets.

Slowly but surely, Idzik's improving the roster talent……….I'm amped about the direction of the New York Jets in 2014 and looking forward to going up to Cortland again.

I wouldn't count on those 11 picks but even if they stay pat throughout only 2 or 3 of them will probably end up sticking with the team.

I was mildly surprised with the pick, but with Idzik anything is possible.

Pryor was my highest rated Safety. I wasn't a Ha Ha Clinton-Dix fan. Pryor wasn't a reach at #18, he could have easily been drafted anywhere from #13-#17 all of those teams could use more Safety help.

Really solid pick, just slightly surprising to most Jet Fans. We have quite a few options at TE & WR in RD2.

I think what's interesting too is that the other safeties were picked after us, Ha Ha, Bucannon, and Ward. If we went WR we could have missed on safety and had nobody in round 2. Will be interesting to see who remains at WR/TE in round 2.

The drop in Safeties is significant after Ward, the Jets did well getting Pryor.

Aside from the fact that Marquis Lee, Jordan Matthews, Troy Niklas, Devonte Adams, Jarvis Landry, Allen Robinson, Moncrief, Lattimer, Coleman, Abberederis, Fiedorowicz, etc. are still left, if you are truly a man of your words (re: your TV set) I'm almost hoping we go defense again.

Of course you don't count on ALL 11 picks otherwise you could theoretically flip your entire roster within 5 years. The point is "safety in numbers" in that the more chances (more picks) you have, the greater the chance of those players who do 'stick' are more than just than JAGs. You want to go into a raffle with 6 potentially winning tickets left or 11?

I always thought English wasn't your first language, but I guess your post this time proves it. Not sure what part of "Vick, CJ, Decker, and Giacomini" you missed. Oh that's right, you missed the CJ and Decker part of it.

the Pryor pick was good. at worst he will be solid. pretty safe pick. I think Bucannon can be better though. he's bigger and faster and hits jits as hard. the knock on him was he's not as good in coverage but he really is, Pryor just had more tape of him being on coverage. I think Deane skills were underratted , clearly he's a better athlete. I like Calvin's heart and mentality though, hopefully he just brings that tenacity that you can't really measure, hope he can be our polamalu

Yeah !!! this kid is an absolute Beast, had to take him the drop off at safety is so huge after him but wideouts can still be had in the second.

    Let's see ...
We added Decker, Vick, CJ2K, Ford and Giacomini prior to last night.
What side of the ball do thoses guys play on?

We badly needed a Safety and we got the guy that was highest on our board. There's still plenty of WR talent to be had in the 2nd round. What's the problem?

Kind of easy to get some picks right when you have put up 8000 mocks every year, one of them is bound to be close to right

He doesn't need to tower over them, just to tackle.
