If Dallas were to somehow end up with Manziel, it is likely that Romo will be out. Romo has had his struggles surely, but has been able to play at a high level. Would anyone be interested in trading for him for say a 3rd round pick? inb4NO
There's no way with that contract and the guaranteed money. The Cowboys might draft a Qb but probably not Manzell in the first round. Romo is coming off of a back injury and economically is an untouchable. The Cowboys need D and plenty of it.
I forgot to consider the contract when I posted it, he could still end up being cut, im not sure what his cap hit is.
Cowboys would officially be the new Oakland Raiders if they draft Johnny football. I'd love to have Romo but like everyone's gonna say the contract makes it impossible. Plus the injury and no one is giving up a 3rd for that. He's untradable
Umm, no. There is no way they will cut Romo in 2014, regardless of his health or skill. If he is cut or traded this year, that would trigger a $29m cap hit. Even if they felt like Romo couldn't play, they must keep him on the roster for salary cap reasons. I just don't see how they could make those kinds of cuts.
Epic win. /closethread P.S. Why do I get the feeling I'm gonna be imitating that cat in about 8 hours...
I never even thought of that one before but it would be very intriguing. Manzelll seems on paper to fit into Chip Kelly's offense more than Foles. The question is then what do you do with Foles. And what about Matt Barkley another Qb who doesn't seems to have the skill set needed for the Kelly O. Who knows maybe if Manziel is still there at 18 the Jets make a deal with the Eagles and then select Cook.
Yep, I am sure the Cowboys will want to take a $30M cap hit this year and a $10M cap hit next year. The $80M he is owed for 2015 thru 2019 is really enticing also.
I don't see Dallas drafting Manziel. Even Jerry Jones said that they aren't planning to do it because Romo is a solid QB. Romo takes a lot of unnecessary flack. He's a very good QB, his mistakes are just exemplified by the timing of them. He doesn't make all that many mistakes, but when he does it's usually in the clutch. I can't possibly see Dallas taking Manziel, in fact I don't see Manziel going out of the top 5. Dallas needs defense. I take Romo on the Jets in a heartbeat.
It's funny, a thread where a Jets fan wonders about the trade-ability of Coples gets deleted in an hour, but this turd thread about the idea of trading for an untrade-able QB just kind of sits here untouched. And it's started by a known troll. Gotta wonder.
That'd be the offseason. Why pick and choose? 98% of the threads started in the last 2 months will be obsolete/overlooked/redundant by Sunday, so why not let it all go down? Beers to whoever starts the "Brady to the Jets for a 2016 3rd after Pats draft Manziel" thread!
