I really don't look it as Floki being manipulated, just the way things played out pushed him to Horik a little. I am going to have to go back and re-watch a lot of these episodes though because I think I may have missed a bunch. The Floki as Loki would be an interesting twist.
Really? Shit I missed that, Love stuff like that. Ep: Choices. The penultimate was interesting and I'm really not sure how this is going to end. I reckon King Aelle (fat king) is coming to a sticky end with Queen Sexy about to breed with the Norseman and make 'Giants'. laughed and laughed at that scene, her eyes on Ragnar were hilarious. Floki is a really difficult character to gauge and could go either way in who he backs. With Athelstan outwardly professing his acceptance of both sets of gods is sure to intrigue Floki....maybe a game winner. It looks like lagertha and her tribe are going to be welcome at the Lothroke camp now with Queen baby-maker offering an olive branch out. King Ecbert is a great character and very well played. Like Athelstan he welcomes new and old ways and is looking to expand his kingdom and knows where the real power lies. Last episode next week
He did say that right I'm getting of Horik, and those were the first words between Floki and Ragnar about that situation, so it could have been for show. But like I said, everything so far in the show indicates that Floki's hedging toward Horik is real. I just choose to believe it's not, based upon the previous character of Floki. I think if it's real, it's a bad move by the writers. But that's just me. These 10 episode seasons are maddening because it's such a great show. We'll likely wait until February out March of 2015 for next season. I'm guessing budget size has a lot to do with the short seasons.
Don't bet on that. The scene with Bjorn's girl fighting on the beach was probably important. Ragnar's wife (forget her name) asks her why she is fighting, she says she wants to fight in the shield wall with Lagertha. "Everyone wants to be like Lagertha." Then she is given her freedom and a dress and jewelry. Seemed like a subtle power play to win over/control Bjorn to me.
I agree with all of that. If there is a twist its going to be a HUGE one. God I hope we don't have to wait that long.
Probably more subtle than that. Get Bjorn to consider the safety of his woman, Lagertha is only concerned with war happenings, Queen Elf Eyes is concerned with nothing but the state of home.
I finally caught up to all the episodes...Terrific season, and I sort of have had a very strong gut feeling that Floki was not going to betray Ragnar. Horik I had a good feeling was going to die because he just got signed up for that show Gotham on FOX which follow Gordon from Batman. Will look forward to future episodes
He (Donal Logue) also got promoted to recurring role on one of those tedious Law & Order shows recently, that stuff was kind of a dead giveaway. The finale was money, though. Interested to see where things lead, whether they do what Lagertha said and find somewhere else to raid or escalate the Ecbert storyline.
Right up to the fight back in the village, I really wasn't going to guess how it was going to pan out. Ha ha, Ragnor's script was about half a page. So many ways this story can go and I just wish we didn't have to wait so long. I just hope the show doesn't get 'Hollywooded'.
Few shows on TV can be considered better than OK when compared to Breaking Bad. It's like comparing every car on the road to a Bugatti Veyron.
I find Floki to be unusually weird as a character...I also dont like how he gets on the Priest all the time. Thats his character though, I hope they raid new lands and keep the King of England in the fold
