Am I the only one who badly wants a legit punt returner that we aren't terrified of watching return the punt.Every time the Jets return a punt I cross my fingers its very shaky back there.Kerley isn't good enough,Wilson is awful id like a solid player back there. The Seahawks killed teams with special teams last season
Really?id say our O line is the least of our concerns. The secondary and TE is where he should be focusing on I feel
No I'm with you there. Decker could be our reliable fair catch guy but I want a guy that can go the distance. Might have to come from the draft. We could bring back Cribbs I guess
our Oline sucks ass.....no faith in Brick anymore and Winters needs to improve drastically. Colon? bleh
with any luck winters should be better with a years experience which would help brick. I agree winters was balls last season though
I know we want a big name at safety, but I really wanted the Jets to draft Brandon Hardin and I think the Bears took him just before our pick.... this kid (I know injury prone) is big, fast as any CB and hits like a linebacker.... he would be the perfect fit to put on TEs and hopefully be our answer at that safety spot...I know he is a longshot according to most, but they picked him up early in the process and maybe they see the same opportunity.
I'd go with: 1. FS 2. TE 3. WR 4. OL 5. OLB 6. ILB If none of the CB's works out opposite Milliner or if he doesn't work out then go get a CB next year when the Jets will be a piece or two away from the prize. 1 good FS is a lot cheaper than 2 good CB's and you help the overall pass defense more when you find the glue guy in the middle to patrol centerfield. I actually don't mind the Jets depth at SS right now. Allen and Landry have contrasting strengths and weaknesses and it's still possible Allen will grow out of most of his weaknesses.
If Clinton-Dix falls to 10-12, I want to trade up. I know it's not Idzik's style, and I have been a staunch proponent of Idzik's style, but Clinton-Dix is such a great talent that could be pushed down because of QB's, OT's, and pass rushers. The chances of the 12 picks we have actually making the roster are very slim so I'd be fine with giving up just a little to get that kind of player. I'd like to get Amaro in the second round, which actually is possible I think if the Patriots don't take him at the end of the first.
The problem is that trading up is rarely a positive maneuver overall. You give up numbers for position when you do that and the NFL is all about the numbers. Even if the guy you really want gets down to just a couple of picks in front of you the odds are good you're giving up a potential contributor to take him preferentially over the guy who would just fall to you, which one out of three times is going to be the guy you are trading up for. You just have to have the stomach to stand in and make your picks. That's how you get ahead. Once you start buying into the fantasy market you're losing value incrementally with each move.
