Went out to dinner with friends the other night and they asked whether I would remain a Jet fan with the signing of Michael Vick. It got me thinking what would be the ultimate disgrace to the green and white that would have fans trading in their jerseys for a new team. Also, in Fridays Letters To The Editor section of the Post several Jet fans said they had had enough and were getting rid of their season tickets. Do you think Woody Johnson factored this in when he made the decision or he is that clueless?

Nothing. At the end of the day the jets as an entity cannot commit crimes or do anything that is judgmental. I would dislike the people not the jets.

If they relocated MAYBE, I hope to never feel the pain the Seattle Sonic fanbase felt.

The Jets have treated me like a hot blonde girl in a German shit porn video for most of my life, I don't think there is that much left for them to do actually

I gave up my beloved Brooklyn Dodgers when they moved to LA so I would most likely do the same for the NYJs

They can only get rid of their season tickets if they don't have a PSL..idle threat.

The love for your team is in your blood. No matter what they do, no matter who runs the team, you will never abandon your team. So the answer for me is "Nothing"

I'm a Nets fan and I started rooting for them because they played in my home state. When they were sold to the Russian I knew the end was near. It was heartbreaking for me when they moved to Brooklyn. I still root for them and I've even been to some games at the Barclays Center but it just isn't the same. I'm not comparing the Sonics move to OKC to the Nets move to BK. But yeah the Jets moving out of this area would make me give up on this team.

I think for me it would take a move and a rebranding. The Jets already priced me out of my season tickets when they introduced the PSLs so having to always watch on TV is not a big deal for me at this point. I just don't see myself rooting for the Los Angeles Platypus. As long as they are the Jets and wear green and white, they will be my team.

Draft a DL or CB at #18 and I'm DONE. DONE!

I kid, but that would piss me off.

For me it would be being owned an owner that uses the team to espouse extreme political beliefs and puts politics ahead of winning. Woody is close to that but he has not crossed the line totally.

What would make matters worse would be a meddlesome owner with no patience, intelligence or maturity who interferes with the team and forces the GM to hire players because of religious beliefs like Tim Tebow. Woody forcing Tebow on the Jets and then involving himself publicly once again with D. Jackson is a recipe for disaster. An owner like Woody that values publicity and short term fixes over long term success makes it very hard to root for a team.

Woody is simply someone who was born on third base who thinks he hit himself a triple. An ignorant man who thinks he is smarter than others is quite dangerous. Such an opinionated fool who has dedicated his left to politically destroying our country makes it much harder to root for the Jets.

Then I guess this is your last post. Maybe you can root for teams with players who had people connected with violence towards other people, like the Pats or the Ravens. Good bye and good luck with your new team.

probably moving. Although trading for Tebow really stopped me from following any offseason news.

They can do things that make me feel more ambivalent, like in 2008 when Favre was QB. That was a tough year for me. Hated the Tebow move, but stuck it out. But short of that, the only thing the Jets could do to make me abandon them would be for them to abandon me by relocating to another city. If you are a fan, you are a fan. There are 53 players on the team and the players are all temporary. You root for the laundry. You can have players you don't like, but you should NEVER EVER abandon your team over a player or two. If you don't like Vick, pull for Smith to win the job. Vick is here short term. I'm an Islanders fan, and as a fan you have to endure. You can be disgusted, upset, etc. But a true fan never abandons the team.

Like others, a move out of the tri-state area (which thankfully will never happen). Even if it is easier to follow teams from a distance in the Internet age it's still too much of a hassle and the fact you can never go to games, have to pay to see all the games on the Sunday ticket or whatever, can't talk about them with people you know...

They've done quite a bit over the last few years to make me want to abandon them. Idiot FO, Idiot Owner, bad signings, lack of good signings, questionable draft picks, horrible in-game head coaching, ridiculous PSL and ticket prices and the list goes on. That said, it'd probably take a relocation for me to stop following them. Although if they draft a DL in the 1st rd that would add some serious fuel to the abandonment flames.

Nothing, they are my team come hell or highwater. I don't live in the area so even a move wouldn't bother me. If they changed the name of the team then it might be weird seeing as all my merch says Jets on it.

    Lmao

Some posters on this forum are such a fuckin joke.

You know what would make me stop being a fan? NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY FUCKIN NOTHING!

I am a true Jets fan through and through and nothing would make me stop being a fan. This isn't the fuckin Dolphins where fans come and go. I'll be here until the day I leave this earth.

And FYI, any of you claiming you are close or would stop if something were to happen, please don't call yourself a real fan and GTFO.
