The Predator is out of the Monday Night game vs. the Saints tonight, per ESPN Radio's SportsBash show. Second game in a row he has missed. Never too early to get healthy for that next contract.

Abraham playing 8 games a year is more valueable then almost any other DE in the league playing 16.

If I was drinking something when I read that, it would be all over my screen.

    This surprises people, how?

I disagree. I'm not sure how to explain it with words, but if he's only producing in half of the games (and with the playoffs being a huge question mark as well) how can he be productive? Your team is stuck with a below average DE for the other 8, hurting a defense and probably costing you a game or two. Also remember that if he's battling injuries that's always in the back of his mind and he'll try and play to not hurt himself. We saw in 2004 - if he's playing 3/4 speed or not playing at all he is useless to a football team.

Remember John Abraham is not THAT good. In a full season last year he recorded 10.5 sacks, and that was when he was playing for a contract. He is a top pass rusher out there, but is definitely not the best DE to the more consistent, durable, and all-around guys like Peppers, Strahan, and Freeney.
