Denver had to let Decker go to upgrade their big problem, the defense. They have Welker and both Thomas's.....they don't need firepower, they need to upgrade the defense and they did so with Talib/Ware/Ward.
Being number 3 behind Welker and DT isn't really an insult. It can be argued hes better than Welker is now anyway. He'd still instantly become our best WR. Any team would be happy to have him.
They needed to improve run D and WR/TE. By tying 12 mil in CB they robbed themselves opportunity to get better where it matters most. Thus they are weaker.

Beyond the Seahawks' picks of Sherman, Malcom Smith, Brandon Browner, etc., the Jets have also had some diamonds in the rough like Chrebet, Snacks, and the Mangini Men that eventually became part of the Browns trade, which became Sanchez (that last one might be a stretch). Also QFT. Hopefully the deal does get done though.
This is so wrong lol He's a free agent because they have the Thomas brothers and Wes Welker. When you have so many weapons it is only normal to lose one or two. You can't afford everyone with out severely weakening one side, in their case, defense. The let Decker walk because they needed to improve their defense and have other weapons. He didn't leave because he's not very good.

And a low chance of the Jets getting any benefit out of the signing. Last year, they needed that kind of signing. This year they don't. Signing Austin would be stupid. It would more than likely waste a roster spot and keep a WR who could help the team going forward off.
