...what good coaching can do. Imagine what Mangini would have done with some of the teams Herm coached the past 5 years.
they come prepared to play. they tackle pretty well (a Herm team weakness), and they never panic. they make mistakes, yes, and they could use a dose of talent. but they manage the game.
Yeah and at that time we actually had all the pieces in place for a 34 until Herm dismantled it... There is no denial this team looks light years ahead of any Herm team and we're supposed to be rebuilding.
Dick Jauron was out coached today. The fake FG, going on 4th and the bootleg on 3rd and goal were all devistating for the Bills. GOOD JOB Mangini.
biggest difference is what mangini has been preaching all along. They finish. They finish drives, the finish tackles, they finish games.
I think it's obvious that Mangini is getting alot out of nothing while Herm clearly underachieved when he did have talent. Granted we still have many issues but most realists knew this year was a throwout to see what we had and begin to build towards the future. BTW very impressed with all the rooks especially Drew Coleman....
Bradway's decisions still would have screwed the pooch except in 2004. In 2004 we might have had a run.
I know that the winds were tough today and Mangini made good calls when they needed to be made. I would've liked to see a couple more deep balls atleast, because while we rushed the ball better than we have the last two weeks, we could've ran it a lot better had they respected the vertical and deep passing game more.
http://proxy.espn.go.com/nfl/sportsnation/ratings?seasonYear=2006&seasonType=2&week=3 Look at the coach with the highest approval rating and the coach with the lowest, even fans around the NFL know that Herm is useless
Just think in KC they are all thinking "at least we didn't lose this week". Don't get me wrong we still have our issues but Mangini has been more than I could have hoped for at this point. No longer do we have to worry about this team coming to a game totally unprepared.
