Anyone smell an upset? We will have to play perfect football to pull this one out, but I have a good feeling about this game.
Anything can happen. But I don't want to worry about the Colts next week. I'm still enjoying this win against Buff.
Miami, Detriot, Cleveland. We can win all three of these, if we can pull one upset in the next 2 weeks we are gonna be pumped going into the bye week.
Well, there's actually a pretty simple way to win this game, but it might be hard to execute. Basically, all we have to do is convince small time peyton manning into thinking it's a big game, heck, a playoff game even, and then we don't have to worry about the Colts offense. I'm not sure how to do that though.
we should go back to the san diego game last year and watch some tape. San diego really socked it to them last year. They run a 3-4 is my reasoning.
Why must you always jump eleven enthusiasm points ahead of everyone else?! One step at a time. Soil yourself, clean it up, and move on to next week, just like everyone else!
thats the attitude i hate Wtf not??? Isnt bellicheck the same guy who makes manning look like a scared little female every time they play???? Dont you think the mangini might take a little of the magic and try to mix up a defensive effort to keep the colts in check??? We have the players in the secondary to stay with the colts. Heck maybe god will send us some rain and mud for the sunday showdown in the meadowlands. The colts are far from unbeatable, they cant stop the run or run the ball. A solid game plan can contribute to a surprising 3-1 team. To be honest with you guys, a physical team like jax scares me a whole lot more than a team like the colts who we could possibly move the ball against.
Colts are not invincible, and Peyton has always had some trouble at Giants Stadium. On the road I'd say we had no chance, at home there is a glimmer of hope.
Clearly looking to defend your title as Most Optimistic Poster, eh RobA? I would not get your hopes up too high for the Colts game. They schooled the Jags today...a very good team. The best we can hope for is a let down game from the Colts, but that is not in Peyton Manning's makeup. Enjoy this week. Setting your sights at a 14-1 record will only lead to disappointment in what is shaping up to be a fun season.
that's why they play the games...we are gonna need another big effort from the secondary, especially after jp loseman threw up career numbers this week...manning will be licking his lips...justin miller is really gonna need to step up, and aside from the usual solid game from kerry rhodes, we need coleman, barret, and/or dyson to have a monster game as well and we need to commit to the run, we CAN run the ball in the indy defense...it will be big if dwight freeney plays for them too, not sure if he played vs jacksonville, but he will test brick can't wait for sunday, we can show those AFC east castoffs what we are all about
It's no secret how you beat the Colts. The Patriots, Chargers, and Steelers have all done it the exact same way over the last two seasons. You get ahead early, pressure Peyton Manning hard, and put him in a position where he's playing catch-up, and he WILL make mistakes. In the last two years, that's the only way the Colts have been beaten. Can we do that? Yeah, maybe. But five minutes after a real nice win do we really need to be jumping into next week?
The pressure we put on QBs any time the secondary isn't involved isn't exactly game changing. I really hope Mangini has some suprises in store for next week.
after watching both teams today, i'd say we don't have a chance; especially with the way our Secondary played. however... Belichick and Co. own Peyton Manning, and that includes Mangini. he knows how to disrupt the Colts Offense. that's about the only thing we have going for us. should we pull off the upset, i'll jump on the Playoff bandwagon. cheers
The Jets can't get up early. I think that is obvious already. 9-7 would be fantastic, but to beat a good team like the Pats, Colts, and Jags you must play well in the 1st quarter. The Jets have to big weaknesses, no running game and slow starts, this is big trouble against a team like the Colts. I think a Jags upset is more realistic.
Yup, those DBs confused the hell out of Manning. We could win this game, but we're going to have to be perfect. Their running game does not scare me but our DBs will need to bring their A+ game. Will we win? Who knows, but it will be competitve. Jacksonville will be a lot of fun too- we'll be in that game.
