Which team winning favors the Jets more?

  1. Seattle - Similar team to the Jets, shows we're headed in the right direction

  2. Broncos - Shows Rex and his Defense will never be the answer, go all out for next Manning/Brady

This times 1000. Sorry, but I think the poll question is dumb. The Jets get no moral victories from this, in terms of the Jets it doesn't matter who wins. The teams are different, their situations different, even though there are a few similarities.

No correlation between Seattle and the Jets???? Are you fucking kidding me?????

Seattle represents the team the Jets have been striving to become since Rex got here 6 years ago.

A Seattle win would validate everything Rex has been preaching about.

And beating one of the most prolific pocket passing franchise QBs in the history of the NFL would say even more.

You are being ridiculous. Good defenses have played title games against good offenses since the 1930's. There is nothing epic about this game and nothing that will impact or change football. The Jets and Seahawks are two different teams and a Broncos win will have zero impact on how the Jets continue to build.

Not sure it impacts on us too much. Personally I'd prefer a Seattle win

You need a well balanced team to compete in this league, that's the bottom line.
Passing league, ground & pound, it's all a load of bullshit. You need to play solid defense and score points, plain & simple.

People love to break things down to a science and label everything, it keeps the commentators talking and keeps people working.
Protect the ball on offense and get it back on defense.

Has no impact on Jets, or how the Jets will continue to build going forward.

In terms of pure NFL fan impact, I'm rooting for the Broncos.
A win from Manning and Welker has a middle finger to the Patriots feel to it..
and I'm tired of Giants fans claiming 'Eli has more rings than Peyton' bullshit.

Yup, you fuckers where right. A suffocating defense without a franchise QB means nothing to the future of the Rex Ryans NY Jets.

    My bad.

People are learning that with the new CBA and draft slots you dont win with big money QBs. You win with Qbs on their first deals and a good defense.

What this game showed us is that defense still wins championships and is certainly still relevant, which is good, because that's how the Jets are built. I bet Goodell hated it. It's interesting because the hype over the past 2 years is that it's a "passing league" or "offensive league" and that you need a high powered passing game to win. Folks have been upset that the Jets have been stacking their defense more than the offense, citing those reasons to be against it. That has officially been debunked. Best defense blows out best offense in the Superbowl, and beat both the Saints & Broncos on their way to the Superbowl title. If it's truly a passing league, then defense is more important than ever. We stopped Peyton (best QB of this generation) in 2010 with our defense and Seattle did it today. Defense still very much matters and this game proved it. The Jets could very well be successful in the near future, if they add the right pieces to put a presentable offense on the field. Defense is important, but they still can't do it alone. You can still have a slightly above average offense with a great D and be just fine.

Now the big question for Seattle, is how many pieces of that defense will they be able to retain and stay under cap? There's a few guys on there that are due to get paid, including Sherman if I'm not mistaken.
