Sapp had 3 seasons with 3 sacks or more and 10 seasons with less than 42 tackles...Also, Sheldon scored 2 TD's...Shut Up Sapp.(never liked that loud mouth.
I haven't seen anybody yet mention the correlation between these comments and Sapp's comments on Sheldon at the time he was actually drafted. I'm going off the top of my head right now, and I'll try and google it later when I get back, but I remember him saying something to the effect of, "there is nothing at all that jumps off the tape to me about this Richardson guy. He doesn't do anything for me." Fast forward to the end of a fantastic rookie season for Sheldon and I take these latest comments with a huge grain of salt because Sapp clearly has an agenda/history with regards to Sheldon specifically.
Here's the video from almost a year ago: http://deadspin.com/5986881/warren-...mp-off-the-screen-like-a-turd-in-a-punch-bowl He loved Sharif Floyd, but didn't like Richardson. He's got egg on his face following the seasons they both had, and is stubbornly hanging on to his opinion.
Sapp is one of those commentators that always needs his "props". You can talk about how good another player is but he will insert himself into the conversation as a comparison and he has to be regarded as better than the person and can't let it go. See Ray Lewis as well.
...and Sapp lost 100 grand betting on the Broncos. Karma, baby  http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/02/02/warren-sapp-rick-ross-bet-100000-on-super-bowl/
The shitty thing isn't that Sapp is one of those guys, it's that the NFL Network chooses to use clowns like him, Irvin, and Deion as the faces of the network. It's frustrating and a little sad that we haven't got past the idea that the only people qualified to talk about sports are ex-players and coaches, particularly when so many of them have proven to be so bad at it.
Has Richardson even really been that vocal about being disappointed in his draft #? I don't remember hearing him ever complaining about that. Sapp is just a washed up dick who's opinion isn't relevant in the least, he just blew his millions quickly and needs this crap to survive. He just says controversial shit to keep his post NFL "career" alive. What a joke.
Its annoying to no end, because they can't admit the possibility that any other player can be "good" without somehow hurting their ego like no one else in history will ever be a great player. The world for LBs ended when ray lewis retired, no one will ever be better, just ask Ray.
