Pettine wants his own identity. No surprise. That's why he went to Buffalo in the first place. Besides this only adds to the evidence suggesting he was the big media leak when he worked here. He obviously doesn't want to be portrayed the same way, and disagrees with Ryan's boisterous confidence attitude.

The suggestion Pettine wasn't a leak is severely undermined, for me, by the fact that Manish Mehta was the one breaking the news of his hire in Cleveland.

Yes...he seems just like him. Except for the Brady thing. Plus he's coaching the same team that Beli 'coached' so it will be interesting. They seem to be cut from the same cloth.

Don't forget, Belichick did virtually nothing before Tom Brady landed in his lap. Pettine seems to have a similar demeanor to him, it will be interesting seeing how it plays out, although if I were Pettine I would not want to be HC of a team that fired their previous HC after 1 year where they looked decent when they actually had a QB.

Hoyer did pretty well before he got hurt. I have no doubts that Cleveland will either sign a QB in FA or draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd round, or perhaps both. They will get better QB play this year.

Pettine isn't Belicheck, yet. He may never be, but we'll see how he develops.

Agreed! While we split with them last year, they had significant injuries in game one, and kicked our asses defensively in game two. I am pleased with these developments. I would have been more concerned with the the Bills in 2014 than Miami.

The Browns have a Top 10 defense, a good offensive line, and one of the best WR in the game... They get a running back and a QB and they are going to be a problem in the AFC North... Expect this team to be a familiar face in the playoffs in the next 2 years..

Adam Schein essentially confirmed that he was the snitch on Jets postgame live.

so he won't be going to the afc championship game in his first season? Sucks for him, because Cleveland is not known for its patience.

"essentially confirmed". So does that mean confirmed or not confirmed? I'm thinking if it was fact it wouldn't be hard to produce evidence of it.

holy hell beast - sometimes you have to take a leap of faith you know. especially when all signs point that direction and you have schein saying what he said. I can't exactly remember what he said word for word, maybe someone will, but he beat around that bush pretty closely if I remember correctly.

There is no direct proof, true. However the following sequence of events is fairly telling:

Mehta and Jets DC hang out together.
Mehta regularly releases stories from "anonymous sources" inside Jets.
    Jets DC moves to Buffalo
Mehta no longer sites anonymous sources.

That's what's know in a court of law as circumstantial evidence, and doesn't prove anything.
