Would love for this just so I dont have to listen to Mike Mayock, although if NBC buys it, we could see him considering he was on the 2nd team for Wildcard Weekend. They want to sell the first 6-8 games and then have the rest on NFLN in order to get people to start watching TNF. I think NBC will end up with though, they already have two TNF games (Week 1/Thanksgiving).

Since I cancelled my subscription to NFL network, this would be nice.

It really should be on Network TV anyways. The quality of the coverage is always better and football just seems like it should always be on the big networks.

MNF just isn't the same now as when it was on ABC. Totally different feel to it.

Hopefully they can find a buyer. Mayock is a fucking tool.

I agree on both; MNF is terrible on ESPN and Mayock is the worst.

Well, if it was up to me Thursday night football would disappear completely, but of course that will never happen

A big part of that is that when MNF was on ABC they always tried to give them a big game. That doesn't happen now; the big games go to NBC on Sunday nights (and of course that is especially true now with flexing). Plenty of the ESPN MNF games are dogs. I don't notice any difference between the quality of the technology on ESPN and on ABC (which of course is also owned by Disney).

I didn't like Thursday night games at first but I am getting used to them.

I think CBS has a strong weekday primetime lineup and don't think they will go for it.

I can see NBC or Fox doing it though.

    I personally would prefer Fox.

People really hate Mayock that much? Is it the lisp or is his football knowledge poor?

I honestly don't know. I tend to tune out the announcers because they're usually annoying or stupid. I just remember people used to laud him for his draft insight.

I'm with you. I hate Thursday Night games every wek. Opening night? that's fine, maybe another game or 2 non Thanksgiving? that's ok but 16 weeks? that's too much, I also miss the Sat games late in the year.

Not a fan of regular thursday night football.

mike mayock is very knowledgable about the draft, but he tends to focus on the players when they just left colleges and their combines. So while that is cool to know for rookies or unknown players, it's kind of boring to hear for 5-6 year veterans in the league.

This is the issue with Mayock. We dont need to hear a draft description of every single player DURING an NFL Game. Save it for draft night or whenever, no one needs to hear it during an NFL game.

I can deal with mayock, it's his "pardner" I can do without.

I'm also not a fan for the fact that I think it's unfair for players mid season to play a game Sunday and turn around and 4 days later play another one. Thanksgiving is fine and opening night is cool too but every week is too much.

I think there are many worse than Mayock. He explains technique and schematics fairly clearly imo. They could do better for a nationally televised broadcast though, sure.

TBH im at the point where I wish there was an option to mute the commentators. Its not that I dont like the guys but id rater be able to formulate my own opinion on the game without have any outside influence.

Exactly. That's why the idea of at least setting it up so that the teams that play Thursday night had a bye the week before makes sense. Too sensible to ever happen, of course.

I'd have no issue with that but no fan wants to see their starting LT tear a knee or WR pull a hamstring because his body only had 4 days to heal from Sunday. Obviously the league and owners don't care but fans should.

Mike Tirico is my favorite commentator, so MNF is fine by me. Honestly I think him and Gruden are the best duo in football. Both have crazy energy and make the game fun for me.

Since we are in the AFC I tend to like CBS the most.

I remember back in 2010 when the Jets destroyed the Bengals on Thursday night and it was on NFLN. WOW! the absolute WORST called game I ever witnessed. No energy, no flair, the commentators were boring. Im all for leaving NFLN for TNF.

you gotta be kidding me. Tirico is terrible. Just a god awful fat fuck, nothing but pre-prepared unwitty one liners. Mayock is just as bad, can't go 5 seconds without talking about someone's 40 time; guess what, no one gives a shit! talk about the game. Deirdorf is an idiot, thankfully he's retiring. The rest are meh to tolerable. Gruden is ok/funny. The only announcer I actually enjoy listening to call the game is Phil Simms.

I wish we had an option to just hear the crowd noise. I watched a quarter of the Jets-Pats game in 2010 (home) with just the crowd noise and it was very enjoyable.
