Thats why the person doing the draft has to think about it in a somewhat realistic sense. There's no point in doing the mock when you pick Watkins or Bridgewater in the 1st because that will never happen. Pick people who will actually have a chance at being there.

The amount of offense he accounts for has nothing to do with that at all. Its percentage... not total drops.

I watched the Vandy bowl game and saw Matthews drop a screen pass and then an identical slant to the one Benjamin dropped in the BCS Championship game, Yet, I never heard a word about how Matthews can tend to drop passes, but Benjamin is ridiculed and compared to stone-hands Stephen Hill. Its very hypocritical. A lot of people around here love Jordan Matthews, and rightfully so, but one thing that I think a lot of people overlook is his drop %.

Benjamin's drop rate is around 9%, so as I said, if you are going to criticize one, dont fail to acknowledge the other.

    1) This is a beta so keep that in mind....still a work in progress.
    2) I read somewhere that this draft simulator bases picks off of people who have picked for their own teams. So the more people take Bridgewater 1st if you run the Texans, the better chance you have it happen throughout mock drafts. '

This is also a detriment because I can just troll and take Sammy Watkins with the 1st pick and more people can begin to do this and you have it skewed in this sense.

Its upside is as we get closer to the draft, it can be more and more accurate that players start going where they should. Keep in mind not everybody has declared(I.E. Manziel) so this is still a clear work in progress.

    Ding Ding Ding

    We Have a Winner!!

If we had a draft like this i would loving it! We basically cover every hole on our team with stud prospects :)

    18
    TE ERIC EBRON
    UNC

    - We need a playmaking miss match on offense. Ebron is a clutch player that makes big plays at key moments.

    49
    OG ZACK MARTIN
    NOTRE DAME

    - Our OG got beat up this year... Martin IMO is one of the best guards in the entire draft.

    69
    WR JARED ABBREDERIS
    WISCONSIN

    - A steal in the 3rd round! This kid is 6'2'' runs a 4.41 and had 1051 yards receiving with 7 touchdowns.

    80
    OLB DEE FORD
    AUBURN

    - Strong OLB that is sneaky fast combined with strength. Rex would love this kind of OLB.

    111
    QB AARON MURRAY
    GEORGIA

    - To land Murray here is a dream pick! IMO Aaron Murray has a chance to be the best QB in this 2014 class!! Yes i just said that!!

    142
    S TERRENCE BROOKS
    FLORIDA STATE

    - BPA bottom line plus we need help at FS.

    179
    RB SILAS REDD
    USC

    - Has tremendous upside! Boom or Bust pick.

    210
    WR MALCOLM MITCHELL
    GEORGIA

    - A little double dip for Aaron Murray to throw darts too and to add another WR to our depleted group.

That is a very cool idea if the program does actually work like that. It also explains why some players seem to be very, very lowly rated in their system.

    VANDERBILT

    49 TE AUSTIN SEFERIAN-JENKINS
    WASHINGTON

    69 WR JARVIS LANDRY
    LSU

    80 G GABE JACKSON
    MISSISSIPPI STATE

    111 S DION BAILEY
    USC

    142 CB TERRANCE MITCHELL
    OREGON

I'm high on Matthews and with Watkins, Lee, Evans and Ebron off the board this was a no brainer for me, to be honest i think i might consider taking Matthers over Evans and maybe even Lee....i just have a feeling about Matthews no matter where he goes he's going to be a legit #1 in this league mark my words. the rest of the picks were BPA in my opinion...only one i struggled with was my 5th round pick it was down to 3 corners and again i picked the one i liked best. All and all if this were to happen on draft day i would be thrilled.

Looks like Bortles is going off at top 5 on nearly every simulation. I feel sorry for the kid. He doesn't even pass my eye test - I don't know what they are seeing. He is at least 1 year away from NFL-ready if you ask me. [I'd say 2 good off-season training is required.]

All that matters is that he passes a real GM/FO/Professional scouting departments eye test.

    We're novices.

They aren't and they know better.

You may be right, but you're just guessing, just like the rest of us.

Question for any of you guys.

While I love the nfl I can not on any level been able to get into college football. I see people always talking about certain players and how excited they would be to get them etc...

What's the major difference between 1a ball and the nfl? Half the players just don't transition as expected. Especially at qb. I don't want the jets to ever draft a 1st rd qb again. I'm curios what some of you think.

Not that this helps since you don't follow college football, but it's a similar principle to superstar high school players not succeeding in college. It's too difficult to totally project a variety of factors, including how a player will perform when everyone else around him is now bigger, stronger, and faster. Some men amongst boys don't have what it takes when it's men against men and their talent can sometimes mask that. A lot of guys don't have the work ethic, and that's hard to project out of 20 to 22 year olds. Sometimes it's hard to gauge their level of competition for the smaller schools. Since football is the ultimate team game, some players can get exposed on the next level because their supporting cast in college or their system or whatever buoyed their performance.

It's not an exact science obviously, but when I'm looking at a prospect (and I don't watch nearly as much college football as I used to), my main draws aren't the freakish athletes. I want to see guys that first off produced in college. I hate project players because contracts are too short that you're probably not going to be the team that realizes that kid's potential. Secondly, work ethic. If a guy seems to really be a student of the game, I think he's got a much better chance of success. The best players in the NFL typically are the best because of their refined technique and mental awareness. Of course it's great to have tantalizing talent to go along with it, but I'll take the guy who is a tick slower or a hair shorter but has proven to have a knack for the mental aspect of the game and/or the drive to get better by better understanding the game and his team, especially because that player has a better chance of bettering the players around him.

So for me it's the guys with college production so they've proven they can do it already, with enough talent but a drive to improve.
