Haha I like how you just so happened to find Duke as the offender both times. Also, some inconsequential feet shuffling didn't get called so an entire professional league is a joke?
I don't know about college, but for the NBA Feet shuffling rarely gets called if you're so far away from the hoop. Traveling is also rarely called on fast breaks. It's the way the game is called. It's mostly called (if ever) on drives to the hoop when the defense set. They cracked down earlier in the year on feet shuffling/driving to hoop before taking your first dribble but as most NBA rule "additions", they crack down on every little case to start the year and then only call the blatant ones as the year goes on to try and get it out of the players system.
It's not just the referees. The Referees, crowd, and announcers all missed the call. The NBA is a league where enforcement of fundamental rules is so lax, that it has become an accepted practice.
Yeah agreed. As long as the refs consistently don't call something, it's understood as you said that everyone is lax about it. The problem is when they inconsistently call something, then fans, announcers, etc starting getting irritated. Block/charge is probably the best example of this in both NBA and college basketball.
The whole "superstars get treated differently" is the best example of this and it shows with Wade not getting called for traveling there. A charge is a charge, a travel is a travel, doesn't matter if you are best player on team or last off the bench.
for me, the NBA has sucked for about 13 years now, it has just simply lost its luster. give me the 80's with magic and bird, or the knicks -bulls boxing matches of the 90's. it just sucks the sweat off a yaks balls now, that's just me though.
