Mathieu is a pretty awesome pick. I probably doubted him more than anyone for his size, the kid proved me wrong by a mile.

This would have left us with Ivory, Powell, Stacy, Ellington and Goodson.

I kind of like this one. Was pissed when we didn't pick Rambo.

    1) Sheldon Richardson
    1) Desmond Trufant
    2) Larry Warford
    3) Keenan Allen
    4) Traded for Chris Ivory
    5) Zac Stacy
    6) Andre Ellington
    7) Tommy Bohannon
UD) LaAdrian Waddle (Have never heard of this guy until I checked out Pro Football Focus' rookie rankings).

I initially went with Patterson in the first round but I honestly think the Jets needed a CB and while I think (hope) Dee will continue to improve and emerge into a Pro Bowl-caliber player, Trufant had a really good rookie season.

Dee was primarily matched up one on one against Josh Gordon and Mike Wallace the last two weeks of the season. That's why the target number is so high.

Definitely agree that CB was a need after Revis left, but I'm still not sold on Milliner. Certainly, since Reed came aboard, the kid's played much better. However, it would have been more prudent to fill out the WR spot through the darft. It would have allowed the Jets' young platoon of Trufant (the middle brother), Wilson, Berry, and Walls to develop.

(And, what's to say that, if Berry doesn't go down or if Walls gets all the reps, that we're not talking about them as DPOM? Or that the secondary isn't less of sife? [sp])

Anyways, as previously posted, it's all just water under the bridge at this point. Whichever position group did not get addressed in the '13 draft will have to be addressed in the '14 draft and free agency. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

i hated the 2 lineman we took in the 5-6 round. are they even competing for a spot next year because im pretty sure we are goint to sign 1-2 and prob draft 1-2 with our 10 picks we can have...passing on eddie lacey and kennan allen bothers me to death... even terrence williams..taking a dt and moving him to G... grrrrrr

I would have cut Goodson after his dumbness... Having 4 backs is key for a heavy run based team.

Would have taken Eddie Lacy in round 2 and Honey Badger in round 3.

I agree, I always hate blanket statements. Well, except for that one.

Seriously though, is anyone gonna tell me they'd pass up Adrian Peterson in the first round?

In better news, the next few seasons are going to happen too, so we'll have more to go on in due time.

High 1st round pics should be used on extreme skill positions with a shelf life of longer than 4 yrs (that eliminates all RBs).

    QB
    LT or Pass Rusher
    WR or DB/S

once you get into the lower half of the 1st round you can get a bit more careless

Logan Ryan wasn't asked to do nearly as much as Dee Milliner was. I'm not sure his numbers would have been as good if he was. No one does really but obviously it's not an apples to apples comparison. Playing CB in a Rex Ryan defense is a very demanding task.

Dee was targeted so much because QB's throw at DB's who are in single coverage. It used to happen to Revis all the time here too.

Stills isn't THAT great. He's got Drew Brees throwing to him. Stephen Hill on the Saints gets just as much production.
