I know who I want us to pick and I'm not gonna do a mock or even let it out because the Jets never do what I expect, so hopefully if I keep it to myself then we can likely get it done
He'll probably say Alshon Jeffrey like everyone else nowadays. We all wanted Alshon Jeffrey right? Right?
I would rather Geno played better so that we won the last game rather than get the first round pick for heaven's sake. If we need to move up in the draft to take a WR or whatever, we will.
2013 Tyler Eifert Kenn Vacarro Dion Jordan Barkevious Mingo Keenan Allen Jonathan Cyprien Zach Ertz Christine Michael Tyrann Mathieu Stepfan Taylor short list of guys I wanted 2012 Bruce Irvin Melvin Ingram Chandler Jones Doug Martin Harrison Smith cant remember them all but those were a few guys I was mocking to us
I am bracing myself for Idzik taking BPA regardless of need. When we drafted two defensive players in the 1st round last year the thought was Rex is running the roost. I tend to believe Idzik when he said he stayed true to his draft board. Talent wins in this league and nothing screws a draft more than reaching based on need. All the great franchises take BPA and I am hoping we start drafting like the greats.
I'd say that if he's there the Jets should look at the option seriously and see how their board is stacked. He's got a very high ceiling and a very low floor. The floor being when scrambling doesn't work for him in the NFL the way it does in college and/or when he gets hurt doing it. This is one of those franchise altering calls if the Jets make it and they are as likely to go to 4-12 as to 12-4. So it really depends on how they view him and after that how lucky they feel. It's a much easier call for a team that is already at 4-12. Odds are they're going to stay there for a year or two anyway so making a call that could vault them much higher is a no-brainer. I expect Manziel to go in the top 10.
This is so true. This Jets team is scary right now at least in part because they took Sheldon Richardson on the 13 pick despite the DL being one of the few strengths on the team. The pick didn't look logical on the face of it but the over-riding fact was that if you got the best player on that pick the team would be better off in the end. It almost always is that way. One of the reasons the Jets were so bad in the late 80's and early 90's is that ALL of their high picks were governed by need. The other reason is that the people making the picks weren't that good at evaluating talent. Put those two factors together and you get a lot of failed 1st round picks.
To me there are five guys I have an interest in. Watkins, Lee. Evans, Ebron and Amaro. Iwould love to get Ebron and follow that up with Jarvis Landry. Give me Reilly and Charles Sims in the 3rd.
He was raw coming out, he hasn't played with a consistent QB yet so his progress and growth has been limited, he was a project that was known from the jump We're also getting a new WR coach I read so thats a plus, also his run blocking is underrated I wont and you can't make me
Any thought to landing 2 TE's early? WR can be addressed via free agency & the later rounds. Imagine a TE group of say Amaro/ASJ/Cumberland. That's a frightening thing for defenses looking to defend the middle of the field.
thats interesting, a f.a. signing like maclin/tate/nicks (although not that crazy about nicks) along with kerley and nelson and your t.e. scenario? wouldn't be horrible i guess. should open kerley up in the middle short and intermediate routes and get some single coverage on the outside. i wouldn't break my t.v. on draft weekend (again, see warren sapp) if thats how it payed out
