You mean get it done Idzy?

Folk deserves to get paid, let's hope they don't get cheap w/ the K. I am sure he will re-sign for a reasonable deal.

Give him a two year deal,he missed a 30 yarder in Miami like Folk of old, If I'm the Gm I'm bringing that up and low balling him even tho he deserves a decent two year deal

Pay the man, he's a solid kicker.

Folk was our only offense most of the season, time to pay up.

No point paying over the odds. Decent kickers are ten a penny. If he wants more than the minimum move on to the next guy.

Based on his career stats, I'm tempted to say he was on just a hot streak this year more than anything.
    ------------------------

It would be a Tanny move to give him a contract like Robbie Gould.

I hope Idzik sticks to his disciplined approach and doesn't overvalue one successful kicking season for a big contract.

a juicy FG kicker contract is likely not in the budget for the jets. after a year folk just had - how much better can he be??. these guys are as streaky as it gets and its likely we have seen his best already.

make him a competitive offer and if he doesn't bite. move on.

I don't think we need to offer the minimum, but I agree he is nothing out of the ordinary and shouldn't be paid top kicker money, just somewhere around the median.

In case you forgot the misery a poor kicker can bring.

Mods, the forum sarcasm filter appears to be fucked.

That is top 10 money for a kicker, I would think more around $4mil over 3 yrs which would keep him at about mid range for kickers and a nice chunk above the vet minimum of $855K a yr.

What's the problem with paying Folk like a top 10 kicker? Are their 10 kickers that are definitely better than him?

Kickers with the exception of a few guys like Vinatieri and Moreten Anderson are year to year and flaky, I wouldn't tie up much money or many years in a kicker. Maybe he turned a corner, but maybe he's just been lucky and got hot, he was not nearly as solid once he missed his first kick.
