Reading the paper this morning, scrolling through channels, and I tripped over The Boomer Show on Fox Sports Network. Boomer is interviewing Chad, talking Jets. Doesn't appear to replay again this weekend.

Anyway, thought I'd post it for the handful of posters that catch it in time.

Nothing earth shattering. Pretty much what you'd expect from a Chad Pennington interview - team talk, likes our young guys, Bills a good team, etcetera, and so forth.

For Jets-starved fans on a Saturday morning, it's about the best you can find.

Hehe. . . he did close out the show nicely, with a 30 second "A-Rod is a selfish choker"* editorial.

*of course, that's my title, not his. :)

I'm always amazed at how Boomer can get some of the best personalities in all of sports on his show, and he is nothing more than an OK Quarterback. He also thinks he's the voice of the New York Fan, which ticks me off, but I suppose that's nothing different than we've seen from many other people.

He had Patrick Ewing in studio too. That was interesting.

Boomer is fair and articulate. At least he played in the NFL .... unlike a lot of those soft belly critics that we have to deal with!

First. OK Qb? He led the bengals to the SBowl and lost to montana. He was 4 time pro bowler, and one of the most successful left handed QB's. Now, I'm not saying I'm a big fan of his, but you play for more then ten years as a starter, goto the SB, and probowl, that just seems to me like a successful QB. It's like saying patrick ewing was an ok center.

Second. He grew up on Long Island, he lives and works here around NY, hmm, seems to me he could be a voice of NY. Who would you think would be better?

I'm not beating up on ya, just wanted to defend boomer a bit. Besides, he made sure the jets didnt go0-16 in 96.

Come on now, I'm not ripping on Boomer. He's a nice sports personality. I guess "OK QB" was an understatment. Ok and Good are interchangable in my book :)

I suppose I'd rather have a lifelong NYer offer opinions on the NY sports landscape over a couch potato, that is true.

When it's on, I might stop channel surfing to see who are the guests on his show, but that's about it. Boom is cool

Boomer was better then just good QB. He wasn't Kelly, Elway or Marino, but he did win a lot of games, including an AFC Championship, and was one tough mutha.

If you're referring to Boomer being a QB for Arizona in '96 , our only victory, I'm pretty sure he was the back-up and didn't play in that game...I think

Actually boomer threw for over 400 yards that game that they lost. I'll read up on it. And mister moss, cheers.

That's always a good trivia question, who were the only team the jets beat in the 1-15 season. I've won a $100 on that one already. Everyone seems to think it was the colts.

Between 85 and 89 Boomer was a top 4 NFL QB. The guy was outstanding particularly in 88.
