I just took it as him mentioning how all the media believes he'll get fired and it's all they're talking about, not that he knows something that we don't.

Think they've once again blown this out of proportion.

Nothing out of blowhard Rex's mouth should surprise anyone at this point. He's dead coach walking.

I don't get the notion here that Rex will all of a sudden get better and take this team to the Superbowl when history tells us otherwise.

Harbaugh won Superbowl in 5th year - ALL winning seasons
Coughlin won Superbowl in 4th year with Giants
McCarthy won Superbowl in 5th year - 1 losing season
Payton won Superbowl in 4th year
Tomlin won Superbowl in 2nd year
Dungy won Superbowl in 5th year with Colts
Cowher won in his 14th year
Belechick won Superbowl in his 2nd with Pats
Gruden won Superbowl in his 1st season with Bucs
Vermiel won Superbowl in 3rd year with Rams
Shanahan won Superbowl in 3rd year with Broncos
Holmgren won Superbowl in 5th year with Packers
Switzer won Superbowl in 2nd year with Cowboys
Seifert won Superbowl in 1st year with Niners
Johnson won Superbowl in 4th year with Cowboys
Gibbs won Superbowl in 2nd year with Redskins
Walsh won Superbowl in 3rd year with Niners
Parcells won Superbowl in 4th year with Giants
Ditka won in his 4th year with Bears
Florence won in his 2nd year

Since 1980 only 1 coach has been with his team longer than 5 years and won their first Superbowl (Cowher) - History tells us Rex won't win one here.
It just doesn't happen if you are not successful within your first 4-5 years.

If it's true, then aloha Rex. May your future be paved with pretty feet and pretzel M&Ms.

But how will we ever field another 6-10 to 9-7 team again without Rex?

Moreover, a lot of these coaches were on their second go rounds, (Belichek, Shanahan) possibly showing that if each coach had stayed with his past team, who knows...

One thing I do know, is if Rex leaves the Jets, he will win a SB somewhere else

If Schwartz gets fired I'd give Rex a look over in Detroit, that offense is great already so add Rex with THAT D Line...

    Rex will never win here.
I do agree that he MAY win one elsewhere if given the chance because his schtick will motivate a team that is close when he first arrives before it goes stale -- which will still hold true to the stats I posted above.

Oh, im sure. Hes doing such a hell of a job here that he has a near 500 record, defense is declining in each of the 5 years, has no clue on how offense, and the list goes on. Yeah, that guy is a sure thing to win a super bowl! If anything, he will drive the next teams offense into the ground like he has here based on what we've seen.
