I would stay far away from Decker he would be the perfect bust... as some of you mentioned he is a product of Peyton Manning and would be set up to fail on the Jets

I think a beast TE is more of a need and will make a bigger impact.

I'd rather get the best TE, he'll open things up for the WR's.

You should be able to get Keller back.

    Pass.

    Also pass on Decker.

Like the idea of Golden Tate, the Jets desperately need a home run threat.

What about Josh Gordon? Isn't he available this offseason?

Don't send me a WR like Wess Welker who did nothing for 5 years until his passes were coming from Tom Brady.

Find me a WR who's had success playing for a shit team with a shit QB and an O-Line with more holes than Miley Cyrus.

Or what about that Ohio State receiver taken in the first round? He's among the best rout runners in the league, has top 5 hands, would be a great #2, and would be an upgrade over Kerley in the slot if Kerley ever got hurt. He's battling through a hammie but lets see if Idzik can get him for a reasonable price.

    Keller?

Keller's career is probably over with the injury he had.

I could definitely get on board with Maclin, and to a lesser degree Pettigrew. Heyward-Bey doesn't excite me very much. With Luck throwing him the ball, he only has one TD and 286 yards in 12 games. No thanks.

I don't get the love for Britt. He's got worse off the field problems than Goodson and is a headcase, plus he's yet to play a full season and his numbers aren't that good. That's the last thing the Jets need with a young football team and young QB. I don't think Idzik would sign that punk in a million years even if he were gonna pay the Jets to play for them.

Agreed, and there's no way NO lets Graham walk, even if Idzik would be on board for a flashy signing like that (which I don't think he would be).

Fuck Keller and his pussy ass brother.

    ANYWAYS.

Yeah, I'd pass on most of those receivers you listed. The only ones I would truly take to bolster our offense (assuming we do the rights things and draft a WR or 2 and Kerley can stay healthy and maybe we keep Nelson or Salas or whatever) I'd take Boldin, he's a solid grab everything receiver, James Jones, a possession guy, and Golden Tate. He's a good solid receiver.

I'd love to have Nicks, but he's a headcase and a piece of shit. We could keep Tone if we were going to get Nicks. Decker, but his production is good because of Peyton. and Maclin is waaaaaay too injury prone for us.

Maclin, Tate, Decker The rest are either old or have some kind of issues we dont need. Also must draft Evans, Lee, or Watkins.

I'd love Cotchery, first and foremost. He will not break the bank in the first place. He is a definite keeper that will prove invaluable. After that, maybe Boldin or Maclin - but I am leaning toward Boldin as he won't be commanding top dollar at the age of 33. Boldin and Cotchery both have incredible hands, and are very durable - and they will help QB out a lot. Also, since both are reasonably old, it would give Jets sufficient time - that is, 2-3 year window - to phase them out with draft picks. Remember. It takes special kind of WRs to prosper in their rookie year. [i.e. Calvin Johnson] Other mortals need good 2 years to get acclimated to WR position in NFL.

And maybe Maclin, if he comes at a discount price [more or so since his connection with MM] but if he's seeking top dollar, he should seek it elsewhere.

The more I think of it, the more I like the sound of Boldin #1/Cotchery #2/Kerley #3.

And for the umpteenth time - big-time splash in FA period is a recipe for a disaster. [Well - unless that FA happens to be Peyton Manning.]

Boldin isn't the deep threat gamebreaker he once was. All 3 of those guys are very good possession WR's and similar. We need an explosive deep threat WR that can stretch the field. Two out of those 3 WR's would be good in addition to this.

    Like that guy Stephen Hill?

    ---------------------------------------------------------

That's the beauty of WCO. What you said above there would have made Sid Gillman happy, but that's not the ONLY way you can get it done. WCO only requires your offense to stretch the defense horizontally, then use geometric stretch concepts to get it done. [Usually, triangle stretch] If anything, Jerry Rice didn't blow the league away with his 40 yard dash time.

What's more important is, if they can create yardage after catch. Both Boldin and Cotchery are pretty good at that, if you recall. That's what sold me on them, not their foot race speed. On top of that, both are reliable red zone targets. What's not to like, other than that foot speed?

More like a WR that can actually catch the ball. I do like both Boldin and Cotchery but that's not the direction the Jets need to be going. I agree that you can use WR's differently in the WCO but foot speed is a huge factor and one that these guys are both lacking. Those guys would be good complementary WR's to faster, younger deep threats. The Jets need to get younger and more explosive, especially at WR.

We can't get much younger at wr. Just look at our starters.

I agree that we need speed and explosiveness. I just think having a non-Holmes veteran talent can't hurt.
