I don't even know what it feels like anymore to have average competence at that position. I long for the days of Penny, Vinny, O'Brien, and even O'Donnell. They at least had the brain cells to read a defense, call proper protection, not embarrass themselves, hit receivers in stride...and just generally be steady average-sometimes above average QB's

These last few years of reject FLAT OUT STUPID projects like Sanchez and Smith has to end NOW! They don't know how to hold a football, they can't read a defense (and will never learn to...this was evident with Sanchez in year 1) they have no feel for the rush, no feel for what's going on around them. They audible into the wrong play, the hold the ball too long, they get baited. Somebody is open? Missed or underthrown

Sanchez is just not a QB, Geno can maybe be some sort of gadget player in the future. That timeout coming out of a challenge win (when you had a solid 5 minutes to pick a play is SOJ garbage and proves this kid is a dumbfuck)

Where the hell were we when Carson Palmer was available. Ryan Fitzpatrick is HUGE upgrade over this disaster. David Carr would look at least competent here.

No let's draft more maybies....NO, GET SOMEBODY WHO CAN AND HAS HAD EXPERIENCE RUNNING A PRO STYLE OFFENSE!

If by some grace of god Roethlisberger gets traded in the offseason. GET HIM. Maybe Chicago gets fed up with Cutler? GET HIM! Matt Moore...GET HIM. We missed out on Alex Smith...Alex Smith has brain cells. That's who we needed to get.

We missed out on Brees this cannot happen again.

Matt Simms is the starter the rest of the season. Maybe his daddy taught him a thing or two about the position growing up.

Serious question: What's higher, Geno Smith's IQ or his passer rating?

I'd say his passer rating. He got some help there other than himself.

I'm sick of morons starting terrible threads. Fitzpatrick? Palmer? Seriously get your head out of your ass. Geno hasn't done anything wrong today. O-line has been putrid, receivers can't do anything remotely competent. Seriously dude get your head out of your ass

name 1 thing he has done right? Because he can't identify an open target, read a defense, call the right protection. he can barely hand off without fumbling

The Jets need to go after the best available QB in FA in the offseason. This is such a waste of a really good deffense.

On the strength of Geno's gutsy 8-19 passing day, no doubt.

You can put whoever you want at QB, when your targets drop passes and your OLine cant block and you have predictable playcalling you won't succeed.

Sanchez....Geno Smith....we can draft another QB and it'll be the same story.

    O Line bad..yes
    WRs bad...yes
Geno ....beyond bad. He is not close to ready to play in this league.
To say he has done nothing wrong, or right is the same because he has done nothing.

yeah the o line doesn't give great protection and the receivers drop balls but I think it is due mostly due to the surprise at a passing play or getting a ball thrown their way...
