Just looking over the Pats roster, boy do they have some injuries to contend with going into their week 11 meeting @Carolina. Realistically I think its between us and the Pats now although Miami are just one game behind us. The only games that worry me are away to Miami and Carolina. Cleveland could be a banana skin. So I think we finish 10 - 6. I think the Pats finish 12 - 4 , so we're looking at someone doing us favours, but their injuries could affect the second half of their season. Of course the same is true for us as well. But (hopefully) we are over the hump and are finishing strongly. Whatever happens, play-offs or not. This season so far has been memorable in so many good ways. Winning the division is probably out of the question, but if we can string a few wins together during that last stretch and break the W-L cycle we'll be in contention for a wildcard for sure. We just need to get 2 games over .500 and stay the course. It's going to be another exciting finish. Hopefully the Patriots collapse and start losing games they should, rather than squeaking by with insane luck.
We are not winning the division but I will be thrilled as will everybody here if we make the playoffs.
My take, if the Pats are to go down its got start against Carolina and Denver. Thats it, if they lose both games then the Jets might have a chance, but thats it. And even if we were to tie them I still like New Englands chances a lot more to close out the season stronger.
I think the Jets have a legit shot at the division. Pats next three games are tough so Jets have a good chance at controlling their playoff destiny if they can start playing well consistently.
The Jets chances of winning the division rest with Tom Brady's playing status. If he's on the field the Pats are going to win the division. If he's not they're just another team.
You expected Buffalo to win and the Jets to sweep the Pats? I can understand New Orleans, but the other 2 games?
If you're saying those were the "insane luck" games that Barcs mentioned... Are you forgetting about the Jets' wins over Atlanta (idiotic personal foul) and the Patriots (obscure rule call that had nothing to do with Folk's initial shank)? The Jets were pretty fortunate to escape with wins in both of those games. So using the same logic, it's just as hard to believe the Jets are 5-4 as the Patriots are 7-2. Luck happens, good or bad... it's what you do with those opportunities that matters.
The idiotic personal foul was vs. TB. at Atlanta we were nearly screwed after a bad call gave Atl a 4st down after a 4th down stop and against you guys they made the right call and a very questionable call went NE's way a few mins earlier on the OPI against Stephen hill.. Either way, good teams find ways to win those types of games, NE has done it forever and it shouldn't surprise anyone anymore.
I believe he's talking in hindsight. The Jets were one drop away from winning that first one, and the Pats should have never beat the Saints. Talk about a complete meltdown by NO. They also barely beat Buffalo. It's crazy how things work out, if the Pats lost to the Bills & Saints, they'd be sitting at 5-4 tied with us. With Amendola & Gronk back, I don't see them slowing down now. Brady is just an amazing QB that he can still throw wins together with no name WRs. Atlanta should have beat the Pats too, now that I think about it. Also Atlanta was lucky that the Jets game was even close. They were aided by some extremely fortunate penalties to give them their brief lead. It goes both ways. For every favorable late game call the Jets got this year, other teams have gotten 10 fold over the past few seasons. It's nice to finally see some of those go our way.
The Bills have Manuel and Spiller back. We beat Miami on the road with a 3rd string QB and kicked the undefeated chiefs ass with a 4th string QB. I think Manuel could make a big difference and wouldnt be surprised to see the Bills pick up a bunch of wins to close the season.
1) Buffalo didn't kick KC's ass. 2) I think Buffalo will lose Sunday on the road vs. Pitt and the following week vs. the Jets. That will put them at 8 losses already. I could careless about Buffalo picking up wins after that because 8 losses will put them in a familiar place - irrelevancy.
Tampa, right... my bad. And I actually agree about the call against the Pats (that it was correct), but was just pointing out that a lot of crazy shit happens and, like you said, it's up to good teams to take advantage of those opportunities.
Kicked the Chiefs' ass? Considering some of the stuff you jump on Jets fans for saying this is just hilariously stupid. Absolute homer interpretation of that game. They were in it, and they blew it with turnovers. You could blame your 4th string QB for being the reason you lost, MAYBE, but then you shouldn't pat yourself on the back for "kicking ass" with him. One of the turnover TDs was the fumble anyway. Bills have talent, I give them credit for staying competitive despite key injuries. But your post was just stupid in regards to a 10 point loss.
