You have to tip your hat to Jets GM John Idzik and the other coaches for bringing in such clutch talent. Was Gregory Salas or Zach Sudfeld on anybody here's radar?

I've never heard of these guys but, how huge were they both today. Idzik is piecing this team together signing solid players without going after big splashy free-agents like Tanny was so fond of.

It's been frustrating the last few seasons waiting for the Jets to bring in somebody to catch the football and Idzik is showing he can evaluate talent and get it done.

He's off to a good start but it's too early to judge him.

He has a great opportunity this next offseason to make these team a serious contender next year. He's got a lot riding on Geno, now we need to put some talent around him.

Yes, it is early but, you look at Seattle and see what a juggernaut they've become then you look at the pieces slowly falling into place for the Jets, it's encouraging.

This is a patchwork roster. I credit the coaching staff more for making something out of nothing.

This upcoming offseason will be huge for Idzik with, I believe, a lot of cap space and full slate of picks. So far he's trimming the expensive Tannenbaum fat, and somehow we are winning because the CS is good.

We are in a great position im so happy. This was supposed to be a "rebuild" year for us ranked 32nd and we come out and doing great im so happy. I think we dont need any lb or dl we are stacked there i like our O line i would keep it keep geno and rb of course i aslo like our TE position with sudfield and cumberland i really like it

i think our only needs are maybe a lowkey CB
maybe a safety but I LOVE the way antonio allen and jarret play, dwans also great but maybe another S
and of course we all know WE NEED A WR !! i think we need wrs a true #1 i like holmes but hes always hurt!
with a lot of cap and draft picks we can get this done! im so proud of team this year there doing amazing keep it up

Nelson, Hill and Sudfeld are JAGs that should be upgraded imo. We can do better than those guys. We need TWO new WRs, Kerley for the slot, Hill can be the 4th WR. Just my opinion.

This offense will start to compete consistently when we give Geno some real pro talent to beat press cover and fight in traffic.

This guy is awesome. Tanny brought in Braylon we all loved the guys but, we traded valuable draft picks and Braylon had his issues. Jets players are like Shark's teeth now, every time one goes down another row grows right back even stronger. All the better to bite Drew Brees with.

    Not seeing this

Nelson is a solid possession receiver who could be a contributor for a winning team

Sudfeld is a specimen. A lot of potential there.

112th pick in 2011 for St. Louis Rams. Signed with Patriots, placed on practice squad, put on waivers picked up by Eagles. Placed on Eagles practice squad and signed by Jets.

Agree with everyone saying we need a true #1. I'd like to see us re-sign Santonio for a fair deal as our #2, and then go out and get a true #1.

Hill keeps defenses honest forcing them to drop someone deep. Nelson is a damn good physical receiver.

Yes, we are missing a true #1. It'd certainly be nice to have a WR duo like Julio Jones and Roddy White.

The message from the OP is that Idzick is getting it done THIS YEAR with the options that he has. Of course we could do better in the future, but not now, not this year. Kudos to him for finding these so called JAGs that are helping us win games, unlike superstars like Holmes that sit on the bike year in and year out.

Nelson and Hill will be keepers in any event, as we move to Draft a number one wide receiver in 2014.

Hopefully Geno becomes our version of Russell Wilson. Hopefully we can find our Earl Thomas and we can find good OLB's to rush the passer.
This is exactly how I feel. We have good 2,3,4 receivers. We just need a true number 1.

I feel we should bring back Holmes for another year. That way we can have a veteran on the roster to ease the transition while we assimilate the rookie WR into the system.
