In my opinion, today's win entering the buy solidifies a record that exceeded most of our expectations. From here on out every single win is gravy. Let's enjoy the buy week, give us a chance to get our wounded warriors healthy and let's give the competition hell the second half. As Jets fans we should be damned happy at this point of the season. Kudos to the CS and the GM for fielding a young, exciting, aggressive and resilient team able to dust off a humiliating defeat the week before and provide us with a surprisingly satisfying win today. WIN OR LOOSE THIS YOUNG JETS TEAM IS WORTH WATCHING. The D was lights out across the board today, particularly with the relentless pressure provided by the magnificent 7. The front 4 create a superb foundation to build on for many years to come. Couple that with a confident rookie QB, making no escuses while leading a decimated group of TEs and WRs and a prolific running game to victory. SHIT YEAH Confidence breaths success, and this young group of warriors is going into the buy feeling good ABOUT themselves, and making us feel optimistic about a promising future. Coples, Ivory, Mo Wilkes, Folk, you really made a big difference to the outcome today. Thanks.
D is pretty good. Reminds me of the 2007 Giants defense. If only we had the WRs to supplement the offense. We could make some noise if we had some real playmakers. Oh well. It's always one thing or another holding back the new york jets.
For me this year was all about seeing what we have for the future. They've surpassed my expectations this year for wins at just past the halfway point. Geno has showed enough to me that QB is no longer a draft need. The front 4 is set. TE is up in the air, but without a doubt WR has got to be addressed in the first round in '14. CB is still a concern too with Cro, long-term. Couldn't hurt to add a RB in the second if somebody falls to the Jets...
I love it, GO JETS. Every win from here on out isn't just gravy, it's baby gravy in the face of everyone who had us as the #32 team in the league. Let's hope Tone shows up for the second half of the season, and that Kerley's injury today isn't to serious.
We should do like Buffalo and draft WRs in first 2 rounds so we can be set for the future and hopefully pick up an TE in the 3rd.
Getting Cumberland, Winslow and Holmes back should help the offense. It's been an impressive coaching job to this point. RR and MM making chicken soup out of chicken shit.
We have building blocks in place. If we can hit on a few need picks and if our youngsters develop we can be a SB contender in 2 years.
Given the win totals that the so called experts were projecting for us before the season, I'm ecstatic that we're still in the playoff hunt, and will be playing meaningful games for the remainder of the season!
I was expecting a 6 or 7 win season so we are almost certainly going to exceed my expectations I am glad to say.
agreed and still some guys just love to hate Geno. I guess they are fans of a QB on IR and will never be happy if Geno does well. Great win today. I am proud of our team.
He's defiantly missing open guys. And this wasn't the only game. Missed a wide open Hill for a TD when he threw into triple coverage today. And that was just what I could see on a live broadcast, when you can only see half a play at best.
Correction, we beat ESPN's expectations. Last year despite the butt fumble we went 6-10. So far we have five wins. What happened in the off-season to make you think we would be worse than last year?
Round 1: OLB Round 2: FS Rounds 3-7: Offense Or maybe you forgot who our HC is! The last time Rex wasted a 1st round pick on offense he's still paying for it.
Maybe our HC will defer to our GM in the draft room. This team needs Offense first and foremost. Draft defense later or address that with FA's. We don't need to spend another first round pick on the defense when our offense is in dire need of playmakers and top talent. No more "projects" on offense (Hill). Now if Rex wants to spend a pick on a developmental defensive prospect, that's all well and good but not at the expense of the offense.
A good free safety would go a long way towards sealing the draft on the back end. Right now the Jets are playing two strong safeties in Landry and Allen and it shows.
